Question 1" drop

Hey guys,

What springs would you all suggest for a 1" drop? Any brands in particular that you've had good success with?

Also, what is the difference between this and going a set of coilovers?

Appreciate it

I'm going the Eibach Pro kit - infact they are currently in my boot, waiting on my wheels.
Heard lots of great things, plenty of reviews and pics in the suspension section of these forums.

How much they cost you?

Do you need to camper your wheels?

Just to throw my 2c in here, Tadasan said that lowering the car 15-20mm will not adversely affect handling, any more than this might.
15-20mm is ideal.
Obviously not everyone is buying this car for good handling though.
I was originally going to go 25mm, but now I am only going to go 20mm. WIll try and have the coilovers fitted soon for pics.
Each to their own though

I've just put the RaceComp Engineering springs on the AVO car. I've been talking with Myles for about 9 years now, and have total confidence in the stuff he sells. While I just finished up this evening, I did get a short drive in through my "track" and I've got to say, they work quite well. It's much more planted in general, less bounce in a straight line, and holds well in the corners, including the sweepers. Rear does like to rotate a bit more, but not in an unpleasant way.

All that said, once I do an alignment, I'm wagering it will feel even better. Out of the box alignments from the factory are nothing to write home about. Just waiting to put all the other bits on first.

But will the RaceComp springs be available over here in Aust?

Seems like we are the last place to get anything

I ordered them from the US. They were $350 including shipping (most vendors were about the same price)
Locally in Australia Eibach wanted $400 for the US kit and it was still a couple of weeks away - but they will be recommending the German spec kit here in Australia (for Aussie conditions) and won't have it for a month or 2. The german kit is a bit firmer - which I didn't want.

Possibly a little bit of camber in the front - camber bolts will be sufficient I am told. I'm not a suspension expert - I just wanted to close the gap by an inch on the standard shocks and in Europe the GT 86 has an OEM lowering option which apparently is this kit.
