My wife has been telling me that for 40 years now!
Almost daily.
Hell, even hourly sometimes.

This has been my car life. I went from a VW Squareback to a Prelude, MR2. When the kids came, I got a 300ZX 2+2 (it had a back seat for the kids ), then a Mazdaspeed3 (practical 4 door sedan, right?).
When the kids got to be driving age, I traded the Mazdaspeed in for a regular Mazda3. Talk about a downgrade. The kids aren't completely out of the house now, but they're adults now and on their way, so its fun car time again.
Hello, Toyota 86.

Having owned mostly Hondas, Toyota's and later Subarus the BRZ/86 is really interesting because of it being a product of Toyota and Subaru. Really makes me wonder what the new Supra would have been like if both makers had continued their relationship on it instead of BMW.

I'll be 52 in the fall, and I just bought a 2020 BRZ ST RS in WR Blue.

I've had many enthusiast type cars in the past. This one is one of the best. I certainly miss having actual power tho. Damn. 205hp never felt so slow.

the rest of the car is damn near perfect tho. Archetypal sports car

Being Canadian too I am familiar with the RS model. But, I'm curious; What is a "ST RS"?

Wonder why there is no ST RS badge on the ass of the MANUAL BRZ?

58, started looking for a 2006-14 Miata, wife said how will you drive that when you are 70. I said I want it now before I can't drive it.

Ended up with a 2017 86.

lol

61 now but purchased a BRZ at age 58 (after 20+ years of dailying an NA MX-5)

For me the car is a throwback/time capsule, except it’s also modern i.e. I feel safe(r) and I never have to worry about anything breaking (vs. owning/driving an older classic)
I can beat the heck out of it on the street and not break any speeding laws, or damage anything, or hurt anybody, or myself.
I was watching this video yesterday and was again reminded what experience owning and driving a Toyobaru Twin is meant to evoke.

Hello Analog,

As of a couple of weeks ago I hit the heady age of 52. Doing my bit to keep the average age up there.
