TBH, with a rental like that, and a pickup near 101/237, I'd just hit 17 to the coast. Get on PCH southbound and stay on PCH until I get half the miles I'm allowed to go. PCH has stretches of road that'll allow that beast to stretch its legs AND TESTS ITS ABS.

But if you want to try something different, I would suggest a variation of the route I just took yesterday up and over Mt. Hamilton in San Jose.

Thanks for the input guys, going to scout a few routes over the coming weeks! As of now, the exact car is still unknown and it could be a Lotus which would make HWY9 the road of choice...

So my wife's baby shower is this Saturday, and I have the whole day free. Anyone want to go for a drive? I don't know many routes though.

Interesting! I drove to the Lick Observatory that day too, albeit somewhat later in the day (Around 2pm). After taking part in the tour, I returned to my car and saw a Polaris Slightshot parked right next to it.
Nice pics Btw.

These Polaris's (Polari?) are serious machines. I was meh up until my buddy took me off roading in his polaris rzr up in the Holister hill svra. Very impressed with its capabilities. Hope the guy with the slingshot got the recall fix.

I may be up for an early morning drive either Sat or Sun, but if I host, it will be East bay (redwood rd. etc.)

Might be up for a drive Sunday morning in the east bay, depending how early (and how late I'm out Saturday haha).

Since there's some interest and I'm a little short on time (got husbandly duties to attend to for the rest of the day), I'll be doing my same old quickie run through the east bay hills this Sunday 3/15 (Redwood rd., Pinehurst rd, Grizzly peak blvd) then, if time allows, maybe some breakfast at Village Inn Cafe in Orinda (best corned beef hash ever!).

It will be the same route as the one I led a while back: https://goo.gl/maps/We9E6
I'll probably be grabbing some coffee around 8:00am at Pete's then leaving at 8:30am
