New Owner - 2015 Subaru BRZ Series.Blue
Hi Everyone - Finally got a chance to post some pics.
Got this car in late Sept.....always liked the FRS/BRZ since they came out but when Series.Blue came out - I just fell in love with the interior and I had to pick one up before its too late. ![]() ![]() ![]() So far so good - btw this car gets a TON of attention, too much for my liking sometimes.... Interior Thoughts Pretty much its perfect - only option I wish this car had was rearview camera, will be a mod for future. Also will prob get center armrest to cover the cupholder area. Two tone Blue Steering wheel and Seats are amazing - love the blue stitching on the doors and knee pads. Material Quality is pretty good imo for this price. Hopefully it will not wear out fast. - My only complaint is the Horn - it sounds very feminine, not sure if they got it from a Toyota Yaris or something ![]() Exterior Thoughts - Car looks great - why would i get it if it didnt??? lol WRB color seems a little darker for 2015 Complaints - 1) Stock ride height is too high 2) Wheel offsets are way too conservative and it needs 18s to look perfect. Mods Planned for future - Exhaust, tailights prob TOMS, clear side marker, and maybe upgrade wheels/susp down the road.... Anyways here are a few pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Video Review: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEBobwprGtA"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEBobwprGtA[/ame] Last edited by R N M; 10-02-2014 at 10:32 PM. |

Nice man! I'm going to a dealership today to talk about getting one in white. How much did it run you if you don't mind me asking?

My white BRZ Series.BLue cost me 30k. It was the only BRZ the dealer had so they were not very willing to haggle much.

Paid $28k plus TTL...I emailed bunch of dealers and negotiated price only by email with Internet Sales Managers - a few dealers matched this price (some are still emailing me lol) but I already agreed to go with this one. |

Politely disagree that it needs 18s
![]() I really like the series blue. If I had to replace my 2013 for some reason I'd get a series blue in white. ![]()

Perhaps throw in some STI springs for an inch lower ride height (sorry not sure if the blue already had them) and I'd go some clear TOM's. Also consider the lower led brake light http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1419029 id go the clear / smoked one to match the clear TOM's.
If you want to pose buy 18's, but if you want performance leave the wheels as they are. Besides they are part of the limited edition car's look and unless you see 5-10 Blues riding round your area all the time this stock look is unique enough look wise imo. |

STI pink springs are 15mm lower, nowhere close to an inch. The stock offset is for aero. The car looks better with 18" wheels because of the body kit which made the car look a little taller. Turning the rear fog light into a 4th brake light is retarded imo.

From researching the topic endlessly I've been convinced by the camp that say 18's, even if lighter, push weight further from the centre of the hub increasing rotational weight. There's loads of really good threads around the performance benefits of sticking to stock size or going 17x8" setups. Some interesting talk in this thread about peoples choices and reasoning's, but there really is a lot more on our forum. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...nsprung&page=2 Some even swear by 16" for ride comfort and further reduced weight / improved performance. I even hear the 86 suspension was actually original calibrated on 16's. I'd need to go digging for that one. 18's naturally have less sidewall to protect your wheel and absorb impacts so your ride will be rougher, even with a lighter wheel. Your choice in the end though. That's all the matters really as its your money and you're the one that has to live with the car ![]() |

This^^ Also, you don't go with a larger overall diameter when you up size the wheels, you lose sidewall. Changing the size will throw the speedometer off, so you wouldn't gain any clearance. As a general rule, wheels should be as big as they need to be to clear the brakes, nothing more. Any bigger and you're pushing the weight out from the center of the wheel making them worse for performance. Though there's no reason for me to change the stock wheel/tire setup as it's not exactly cost effective for me... |
