Why would you not tune the chassis if you're buying FA500 coiolovers???

There is no right answer. Study and make your own decisions. :-)

Depends on what YOU want. Find some pics and go from there. It's only 10mm. This thread has a LOT of info plus the wheel pic thread.

I would pick 35.

Here is my set up. A 1.2" drop on lowering springs... 19x8 fronts wrapped with 215/35r19 tires... 19x9.5 rears wrapped in 245/35r19 tires... Both front and rear are offset 40... All rubber is stretched 1.6 over for clearance. I'm thinking I might need to camber in just a little bit... Any suggestions on how much camber I am needing.

I believe you will be fine without needing to tuck with camber. Good fitment. Post pics.

Any idea how much these wheels weigh?

I've only seen one post on RPF1s that are 17x9 +45 mm, and he was rubbing on his front sway bar. But he was also dropped 2-2.5"

Has anyone run a 17x9 +45mm with 245/40/17 either stock or a 1" drop? Any rubbing on the front strut? I saw someone had 17x9 +42mm and it was really close.

Will not fit with stock struts in the front, it's too close. It does rub the sway bar at full lock only. It doesn't matter how stock or low the drop is.

Does a 3mm spacer fix this? Or do I need to go to 5mm?

Thanks!

To clear the shock, I would say 5mm, but even then I would definitely test that out first to make sure.

Can anybody tell me the EXACT offset from offset 0 (should be exact middle of the wheel/symmetric attachement; offset 0 represents the spot where you attach the wheels to your car, right??) to the spot on the fender at 50° front of wheel (when you draw a straight line from wheel center up to the fender and then use the position 50° to the front on the edge of the fender)?

Background is, that in germany the whole wheel has to be inside the wheel containment area below the fender and may not stand out at all at the points 30° to the back and 50° to the front of the fender above the wheel (you spot the points according to the degrees given with the explanation above). So I want to exactly know how many millimeters, combined of half wheel width and offset, I can go maximum with a guaranteed OK from TUEV.

I hope this doesnt sound too confused!! I am just trying to find out the maximum attributes that germans can get without having to do body work and getting a guaranteed OK from the TUEV (=german company that checks if your car is according to safety regulations, we have to do this here).

I sent an e-mail to Tire Rack, and they're saying it will clear the front strut without spacers.

Is that your car pictures above? Did you try fitting this setup and it didn't work?

I fitted the wheel with no tire and it looked to me like it would absolutely hit, I tried to fit them with a 235/45/17 and it was laying on the strut.

Yes that's my car.
