I find it interesting that the manual only shows disassembly of the inboard CV joint because I've just discovered that the outboard CV joints contribute by far the majority of the total drive lash.

I am now on a hunt for tighter and hopefully tougher stuff.

Also, I know that u-joints have their inherent flaws but practically zero backlash. Kinda missing them right now.

In other news I found the #1 handling problem with the twin, the stock battery. It throws off the entire balance of the car. I installed a trailer hitch, went to u-haul and rented a trailer, relocated the battery to the trailer and now my car handles like you wouldn't believe.

I'll be pushing back on cleaning out Member Classified section later this week.
Same shit happened when I left for Japan this past spring for 3 weeks, with even my manager confidently saying "make sure you send me the details and I'll handle X while you're gone!", and of course I got back and neither he nor any teammates had moved it forward one nanometer.

His datalog indicated that the port injection system is biasing a bit lean and that the injection is coming back online on deceleration a little late versus how it should be.

Today he messaged me and mentioned that he was at a tire shop and that they informed him that he had nails in both of his passenger side tires. Ah ha! I immediately knew what was going on with his car.

The rapid rotation of the metal in the two nails were disrupting the EM field and the ability of the TPMS sensors to reliably communicate with the ECU. As a result, a high amount of erroneous data was being received which meant the ECU had to increase it's use of error correction. This lead to it's internal CPU's timing subsystem being delayed. The delayed timing meant that the port injector idle fuel mapping is slightly slow to engage.

Boom, removed the nails from the tires and problem solved.

Best bang for buck performance mod there is. My car uses flashlight batteries. Little rough on cold starts but it's all about the weight baby!
