Just get aftermarket Bilstein B6. I got B8s (same thing with less droop travel) and I'm *really* impressed with them on the street and at the track.

I'll add that no adjustability of B6 also can be pro, not con, as it may mean that there is also no ability to dial wrong setting, or spend time on trying out multiple settings instead of just driving

What's the better match for Eibach Pro-Kit Springs: B6 or B8??
|
09-24-2020, 11:45 AM | #18 |
Both will work fine, B6 will be slightly better.
Remember valving is the same but B6 has more droop (extension) travel. We carry the B6 shocks. Not on our site right now since we just redid everything, but you can PM me if interested. Adding more parts (and a few packages with springs) over the new few weeks. - Andrew |

I installed B6 on the rear, very happy on the street and on the track, much better improvement against OEM dumpers (no Sachs)

In which cases do you recommend the B8?
I think some of the open wheel racers around here use front droop limiting to reduce push on exit, and rear droop limiting to add rotation on entry. The former seems especially relevant to our platform, but I'm not sure how much these characteristics translate.

Bilstein tS are based on the B6, but with a bit changed specifications. Example the front lower part is extended. So, yes the B6 would be an option in a somewhat more limited budget. They are really good between the options I tried, but not THAT GOOD comparing to the latest Sachs to justify a suspension swap . Factory was constantly improving the Sachs option since '17.

I'm still debated between the 3 options of STi: Sachs seems the best, but it's stock height. Many say the same for Bilstein kit, almost no drop from the springs.
Showa drops exactly 1.5 cm, but it works less good... Regarding normal Sachs, I think they are bulls**t. If you keep the car stock, with stock springs they work very fine, but if you fit lowering springs, stiffer bushings, and braces they work very badly... |

Depends also the road conditions. In Germany for example, I didn't have any issue with a 25mm lowered height when using the coilovers and an "accidentally" super stiff setting (5 clicks from the end). In UK and with their road quality, I wouldn't dare to drop even 10mm the height. It looks to me that suspension is not always black or white. But as you mentioned, I heard and others saying that Sachs with different lowered springs don't seem to work very well. So, you either keep them stock or you change to something else (e.g. Bilstein tS or Bilstein B6).

plan to pair b6 and rsr down spring , f 2.8k r 4.5k , is this a good match for the b6 ? i know rce yellow is what you recommended but don't want to lower the car more than 1/2 in and also looking for comfortable ride.

Still here debating...
Do you know if there are height differences between 2013 and 2015 tS? |

I am quite happy with my MY18 tS suspension and other tS bits that made the car much more neutral and controlled in our uneven Greek roads that are more or less similar with UK B roads.
Moreover the car has acceptable comfort compared with other suspensions, only the Ohlins R&T offer similar comfort although they use much more harder springs. They lowered my car 1cm front compared with OEM MY18 EU BRZ suspension, front rake which favors oversteer, while spring rates are more increased front than rear which favors understeer. I always am fan of OEM solutions thus in your case I'd prefer MY20 tS suspension or something like Showa Tuning Evolution kit, it just lowers more than my parking allows me... |
