Headlight bulb is H1, socket/housing is for H11?

I've had my FRS for about 6 months, one of the bulbs burned out so I opened them up for the first time. I find that the bulb connection itself is for an H1 bulb, but the housing on the back of the headlight where the bulb is inserted is for an H11. I have no idea how the bulbs were in their prior, but I can not get the H1 bulbs positioned in the headlights. I even went to Toyota and they were stumped. Any ideas?

Someone at some point rigged your car with ghetto HIDs probably. Sorry I don;'t have something more constructive to offer, but that's not factory hardware

Alright, so if that's the case, best solution? If I need to get both headlights completely replaced I'll do it, last resort of course but at this point it's completely inoperable in the dark.

You need to determine where the wiring was changed to know what you need to fix/replace. If it's a plug n' play conversion, you can buy a stock wiring harness and be good to go

Thanks for the advise.

So with 2 of these above, even if I need to cut the original wiring, I should be able to just replace with this, plug in some H11s, and be good to go?

I would imagine, yes. Unless they spliced before those connectors. I'd really still advise bringing it somewhere so they can make a fair evaluation of it if you're not sure after seeing the wiring diagram. Can't hurt to be sure before spending $180 on wiring
