Shift knob for automatic transmission

I certainly hope this is helpful and there isn't already a thread for this, I searched and couldn't find one. I didn't really care for my stock shift knob and it seemed that adapters were needed to make one fit(correct me if I'm wrong). so I grabbed my old shift knob from my 2015 Mitsubishi mirage, (that my wife had saved despite me telling her to toss it, love that women). the son of a gun went on like it's made to be there! The thread measurement is the same as the Mitsubishi Evo 2008-2012 5mt. So thats M10 x 1.25. The knob a 1.5 inch diameter and 3 inches tall. When I first purchased the knob for my mitsubishi I gave special requests to the gentleman who owns and operates WC LATHEWERKS. I asked him to deepen the threads by 2.5 inches so the knob would actually reach the boot, but you can go a little smaller, because again this came off my mitsubishi, but i think the knob sits nice, see Pic below.I've bought all my shift knobs from him, he makes it all by hand and the quality and craftmenship of the knobs are not comparable to anyone out there IMHO. There's a ton of style knobs and has amazing customization options. Heres a link http://www.lathewerks.com/shop/

Remember you'll have to select mitsubishi as your car, than select 2008-2012 5mt evo(it's the Pic of the yellow evo on his site) and buy your knob with these instructions:"Make knob 3in tall with 2.5in deep hole for toyota 86AT, M10x1.25". Or you can contact him directly with any questions.

I suppose you could request what you want from him without selecting mitsubishi as your car but I don't see anything on the site specifically for the AT transmission. Cheers.

You could also use a manual shift knob with 12x1.25 to 10x1.25 adapter

Thanks for the info

I think this is the first time I've seen that little compartment used to store anything in.

I'm guessing that knob is heavier than stock?

Yeah it looks like quality work. If I didn't already have my STI knob I might have to order something from them.

The sti knobs are bad ass. You're right tho, no need to buy what you've already done.
