Unhappy 2018 Car Configurator Live- No PP listed

2018 86 configurator is up, but there is no performance pack listed. I am disappointed tbh. Not sure if I settle for a regular GT or go for a BRZ instead.

https://www.toyota.com/86/

I would not be surprised if they are holding back the PP for another "special edition."

I'll also note that Hot Lava is missing.

If you build a GT, you can click on "view larger images" at the top of the page and you can see some pics of the interior.

On the plus-side, that steel color is pretty nice.

Ya. They told us a while back that Lava was going away.

No PP, disappointed. Not even really worth buying, you can already find 860's for cheaper than new base 86 if you want the upscale bits, or just get a used 2017 86 if you don't want the upscale bits. I also noted they finally pulled the TRD intake off of the accessories, it was still there for the 2017 configurator, despite not being compatible with the car.

I personally hate hot lava and think it's a disgusting color. I won't miss it, but I suppose you're right. The only color that the FR-S/86 never got from the BRZ was WRB, and the only color the BRZ never got was hot lava, not counting special editions like the RS2.0 or Series.Yellow/HyperBlue

Completely worth buying a new one.
Should nobody buy a BRZ Premium either?
Limited is crap unless it has PP?
Everybody that buys one should want PP?
You do realize they have to sell new ones to somebody or there will be no used ones right?

Of course I do, that's why I'm the future 4th owner of a 2014 Shelby GT500, let the rich and unwise make the big purchase, and pick up the cheap used purchase down the road.

First of all, the PP is an absolute freaking bargain, a steal even, for $1200 you get a BBK that's probably valued at closer to $3k (based on similar kits put together or sold from Brembo for our cars), not to mention the wider wheels that clear the brakes, and the shocks. You're looking at a $1200 package for $4k+ worth of equipment.

IF you step up to a Limited BRZ, I see absolutely no reason NOT to get the PP.

The BRZ Premium is totally worth it. My car is basically a BRZ Premium, it's base model/basic af, and includes none of the extras that people like me don't want from the Limited/GT. I'm just saying, IF you want that stuff, you might want the PP too, and that makes the BRZ the better option, if you want that stuff. If you don't want that stuff, it's really a wash between the BRZ Premium and base 86, depending on what accessories you want, which bumper, which spring rates, which touch screen.

Now the BRZ gets CarPlay too, which puts the 86 at an even greater disadvantage thanks to Toyota's tremendously questionable decision to continue to push their own crappy infotainment system and deny buyers Android Auto/Apple CarPlay across their Toyota and Lexus lines. A decision like that is sure to ruin sales figures.

The rich and foolish eh?

Can't wait to see you sing the blues about how bad your car had depreciated when you go to sell it.

They make the different trim levels and people will buy them.

Is “Steel” new for 2018? “Thunder” certainly seems to be new, it looks like a lighter (non metallic?) version of the previous model years (and still available) “Asphalt”. Will be curious to see it in person.
