There's no point to putting parts on a car that's perfect, and with no described problems there's no point in changing anything. Up the driving skills until you can pinpoint something you don't like.

Otherwise you're just throwing money at it for no good reason.

Yeah, point taken. I just wasn't sure if there were any "obvious" bushings/braces that would make a big positive impact.

Rear UCA bushing makes a huge difference. Very solid feeling to the rear compared to stock. Cons are they are a pita to install and nvh and discomfort significantly increases

Hey guys, I would like some recommendations on coil overs. I plan to buy some coils by the end of the year..right now I am doing abit of research.

16' BRZ limited
Activity: DD(mostly highway), in warm climate, planned 6 auto-x this year, novice events, some defensive driving courses. Maybe some HDPE events.
Budget: $1500-2200
Desired drop: 1"-2"
Wheels: 17x9-18x8.5
No current supporting mods.

Hi, what do you think will be the best match for the sachs dampers in the 2017 pp models, the rce yellows or tarmac?

curious as well but i'm very hesitant to modify the stock PP suspension. compared to my '15, the PP on my '17 is far superior!

Our upcoming GTWORX Bilstein coilovers would be a good fit. Good ride, great handling, and Bilstein quality. They're non-adjustable for damping, which keeps things simple.

If you want something with a lot of damper adjustments, KW V3 would be worth looking at as well. Our RCE T2 coilovers are a custom valved and spring version of them that is a little more track oriented. But they would be just past your budget.

Same here, the PP setup is very good and quite balanced, but I don't love the monster truck look. I used to have the swift-Rs on my S2000 CR dampers and they were great on the street with a bias towards oversteer (which I prefer) so that is the first place I looked but their rear springs are a good bit stiffer than the yellows and Subaru said with the 2017 they softened the rear springs because of the bigger rear bar. We don't have any real spring numbers for 2017 that I have seen though. So I dunno, I might end up trying out the yellows to see how I like them, I am concerned that the swift-Rs would be too much for the rear with the bigger bar back there. This is my DD (S2000 is track car) so it's not critical and coils are overkill, but I want a somewhat comfortable setup that doesn't understeer.

I wouldn't use Spec Rs on stock shocks.

Awesome! Thanks for the response. I will look into that. I believe that having the ability to adjust dampers would be ideal for me. I drive my BRZ on a military base and the roads can wildly vary depending on where I am.

Could you give me some advice on how to gain more knowledge of suspension and the components as a consumer? I don't think I would need to spend as much time on things as an engineer. However, I do want to learn enough that I know exactly what I am looking for as a consumer.

Our RCE Tarmac lowering springs are about the same rate and we don't recommend running them on OEM shocks, so this isn't a knock on the Swifts, just us being realistic.
