It is a little stick that makes the signals go.
I mean different people care about different things right? I personally don't really care, but it has been the subject of "controversy" in several of the review videos, so it makes sense some would talk about it. It's a forum so topics people don't care about will naturally go away, so it does seem that there are people who care about it in one way or another. Besides, it's something that people are going to have to use every time they drive, I think it's a valid nitpick just like people were nitpicking that the doors have no pull handle on the second gen.

See, apparently people do make buying decisions from turn signals

Seems the higher end the car the less turn signals are used.

It goes along with road ownership.

Fair enough, I could probably answer @Dadhawk on https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147442 rather than here.

On the other hand, that thread is on the 2022-BRZ subforum, and this thread is in the 2022-GR-86 subforum.
One could argue that duplication across two subforums is "working as intended".
I have already asked the admins/mods to provide us with a place where common topics can be discussed, to avoid such duplication.

But also... I remember there was someone on this forum who kept complaining how hideous the 2022's look, on something like 17 different threads? Can't quite remember who it was.

Can I replace the turn signal with a Subaru style one?

I believe he is trying to say that we should keep the discussion down to earth and not make so much noise like the new model is the next supercar thing. It is nice that we got it, but as all things in car manufacturing it is just a new model with its pros and cons.

At least these threads are better than the usual.

Which oil is best
Does this wheel fit
MT is better than AT
Which car is most like the twins
What should I buy a twin, s2000 or Miata
How reliable is FI
What’s the best tire

I learned something that some people actually care about the turn signal.

I never said this turn signal is the deciding factor (lol).
My point simply was that despite whatever some people are saying it's not worse, only takes a few minutes to get used to,
and some people might even find the new one better than the old one.

Same applies to the interior overall: the new one feels better than the old one.
The interior in my '17 Limited BRZ definitely feels old and cheap in comparison.
Not a "s**tbox vs supercar" kind of difference, but a noticeable one.

Not enough to justify the update on its own, but combined with the extra performance that the FA24 seems to deliver
(both based on journalists' opinions, and what people who already got their 2022's say and prove with videos),
I'm sure some people will definitely prefer the 2nd gen over 1st gen.
Even if perhaps they aren't excited about the 2nd gen exterior design.

I still don't understand why it's bad for someone to ask a clarifying question and for someone to reply to that question on topic,
but fine to keep saying "yeah but the 2nd gen looks horrible" on many unrelated threads.

Ha ha! A turn signal coming on just means that car is about to cut you off!

I feel the need to share here that, I don't get all the conversation about interiors in general from the sports car enthusiast community. Every article or vid that goes on and on about interior makes me die a little inside. WTF, if you claim you're a car enthusiast but talk a lot about the interior, then that tells me you're not a real car enthusiast. People will say they like to be comfortable, but that's not a "driver's car" thing, that's a Mercedes thing. Get an old Town Car or Mercedes or something.

Not a specific rant here... just hating all the verbage and text in vids and magazine articles about lame-ass interior conversations. I think it's so common because it's so easy to do... any you-tuber can go to a car show and sit in a car and give a "review" that has no useful comments on driving dynamics of a sportscar. And we're all interested in a sportscar for driving dynamics.

the interior of a vehicle is very important. it's the component that we as drivers interact with. if it wasn't, we'd all still be using windows 3.1 because fundamentally, windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 do all function the same as windows 3.1...

You interact with the tires, suspension, gear box, engine, brakes, exhaust sound. Not really with the car's interior. Unless you are sitting in your garage or car traffic. Trying to give a better interior is really a way to attract people with different priorities to buy this car.

The squeaks and rattles in my interior are sure trying to interact with me though.

I think Gen2 has a certain RX-8 look to it.

I'm gonna sell the FRS.

I've got an i4 M50 on order, not a Gen2.
