It looks like a Z4 that was modded to look more like a tennis shoe. It's overwrought and poorly proportioned. The twins are much, much prettier cars. Also automatic only. Why bother? There are more exciting cars. There are faster cars. It's not some happy medium. Meanwhile, the RC-F is gorgeous. No no no no no no no! I do not like.

2 things I don't like.

1. The shape

2. It's a BMW

Not a fan.

Why does it look like a BRZ with a cheesy body kit?

Because it is!!! Ha!

Eh, I'll just buy a 340i debage the BMW and slap a cheap eBay Supra decal and call it a day.

Isn’t it a hatch? Maybe an edgeless hatch?

I would put the Supra against the RC350, should be around that price, I would rather the Lexus hands down.

The Supra looks like a mish mash kit car.

If the BMW Supra is Lexus RC-F money only a idiot would buy the Supra.

I'm out.

Probably better than the Camaro's trunk.

I do enjoy the lines of the 86 more. It is a simpler and better proportioned design, but I do love the proportions of a long hood, two seat coupe, and I wouldn't mind a turbo straight six. For the money, I would probably go for a Cayman more, but there is definitely a mystique about this car that is alluring.

The RC-F is a 4000lbs porker with a fugly hour glass grill. Just saying. Aesthetics are very subjective.

Unlike most people it seems, I like both the appearance and the design and will withhold judgement on what the car really is until I can drive it and after the initial year's release for common issues and real world quality checks by people abusing the absolute heck out of it. I wonder if people would stop complaining if it simply wasn't called a Supra.

Apart from the engine and transmission, the only things it shares with the BMW are the mirrors, some interior piece and a couple suspension pieces. 6 items in total

Like I said above, it is a hatch. The rear glass has an edgeless design to minimize lines, which is a theme on much of the car.

That doesn't sound accurate.

Actually forgot about the fact it's a liftback.

Apparently development diverged pretty early on. Here's a quote

"There won’t be as many parts shared as you think; we’re told that the new Supra now only shares six - six! - components with the Z4. There's the engine and transmission, just the door mirrors and two others parts that are common between them."

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the final design, but I think Toyota did a great job making something fresh and familiar at the same time.

It might look strange in some pictures, but this is going to be a beautiful car in real life, especially compared to cars like the Mustang and Camaro. I'd love to see one parked next to a new Cayman.
