domino's is having a special for $5.99 pizza, got it a few weeks ago for something different than my usually takeout affair.

i selected curbside delivery, which means that i just pull up, hit on the web page i'm there, and they start a guaranteed 2 minute delivery timer. if they don't bring it out within 2 minutes, they email a coupon for a free pizza...

twice now, they've delivered it late. which means that my original $5.99 pizza is now a buy one, get 2 free!

i'm sorta curious how far my luck will stretch before i need to actually pay for another pizza...

dangit. there goes all my lottery luck. blowing it on free pizza.

Lol. Speaking of curbside pickup, the other day I walked to a coffee place and used their app to schedule curbside pickup. The dumb reason is that in my county you can't bring dogs inside food places, and my puppy isn't the kind that can be left alone (still young, kind of a valuable breed that people wouldn't mind stealing, etc.).

So I order using their app, it says 5-10 minutes ETA. When you arrive, go into the app and "check in" and mark the number of the parking space you've parked at.

So since I was walking, I just walked into an empty curbside pickup space, marked the one in the app, checked in, and waited with Haru in my arms. About 15 mins go by, which is almost 10 mins past the original ETA time and nobody has come out with my coffee yet. So I decide to give the store a call to see what's up.

They tell me "uh, someone came in and asked for your order." So they ended up making it again for me and on top of that I got a free drink coupon for the issue.

Funny thing is that I watched the whole time and nobody had my drink, lol, and for a pickup order my drink would've been in a different spot (I've seen the two areas when I've ordered inside before).

My guess is that the barista looked outside, didn't see a car at the parking spot, only a weird dude with a dog, and decided it was a mistaken order so they skipped making my drink. Then came up with a BS excuse. They never bothered seeing why someone checked in two separate times in the spot and was still waiting lol.

And to make things funnier, they already had a BOGO deal that day where they'd give a coupon for a free drink for the next visit.

So same ish result as you, I spent money on one drink and end up getting two "freebies" from that :P

can't argue about the price though!

i can't get out of any of the good places for less than $18-28, though i always get a little extra so i'm covered for lunch for at least 2 more days

with buy one get 2 free, it's essentially $1.99/pizza. can't even get a hot pocket anymore for that!

Domino's offers a thin crust that isn't bad. We order out a couple times a month on lazy nights. Vantucky is in a world of hurt for actual NY-style pizza.

We have one place in Nampa that does pretty good NY style by the giant slice. Other than that, we haven't found any decent pizza here.

Whenever I go back to SJ I always go get a Gilroy Garlic Supreme at the Garret in Campbell. Best pizza ever.

This reminds me of a coworker that would bitch about taco bell sending him to the bathroom. Then one day we went during our lunch break together...

I order: 2 chicken chalupas and some kind of freeze/slushy thing.

He orders: 2 7-layer bean burritos, 2 beef fiery dorito taco things, a grande nacho with extra jalapenos, a mexican pizza, 15+ fire and diablo sauce packets and a large soda.



No wonder your in the bathroom...
