I really hoping I can leave my flex fuel lines. Maybe the shop will be kind. Everything else will be stock otherwise.

Just did my STAR station smog check. The visual check was very thorough, the guy called me out for not having the sound tube (i reverted my engine to stock for the test and didn't bother with the sound tube as i had it previously deleted). Guy took mercy on me but pointed out that a less lenient examiner would have failed for having the sound tube deleted.

I still have mine but it's caped. Your talking about the dumb sound tube that goes into the firewall?

SOUND TUBE?!? Jesus, I would have laughed out loud at that statement.

If anything that tube introduced carbon dioxide into the cabin. It was the first thing I deleted form my car. If removing it would have caused my car to fail it's SMOG test, I would have filed suit against Toyota/Subaru for creating such a
ridiculous and hazardous appendage.

I knew there was nothing on the car that would fail smog, but you never know. I was concerned I might have to show my J02 recall certificate (which I have) however he didn't need to see that. The guy said my catback was totally fine. This was in Orange county (south) Ca.

I too am a south county resident and will inevitably need a smog sooner rather than later. Would you mind PMing me where you took your car for your smog?

Thank you!

sure, but the rule for these places is basically they want to see that the engine bay looks the way it did when it left the factory. when i said its just the sound generator tube, he also indicated "it can also act as a reservoir for airflow" (must have read the thread here about deleting the resonators on the intake lol) but he dropped it and passed me so i let it go.

Interesting. I have the TRD intake which deletes the sound tube by design. In fact, it's in the instructions on how to take it out and plug up the holes. Interesting...

This is smog legal, you can get the carb sticker from the Toyota dealer where you bought it

correct but they still need proof they bough it from the dealer. Without it no carb sticker.

Yes, I got that. Luckily it came with the intake, even though I bought it from Amazon.
