That is basically my concern. Four years into owning my car, I've repaired all four wheels (bent). Can't imagine those forged wheels lasting long with our roads being like so.

One can damage forged wheels too. As often more strength/rigidity per weight/material is used up to make wheel lighter, as result wheel being just as strong as heavier cast wheel.

Just wondering, does anyone know what the diameter on that center cap is?

Watch out for the finish peeling on these wheels.

Already had mine replaced under warranty. Less than 2 years and 25K miles.

I live in Chicago, so also terrible roads. But these will be both DD and track wheels for me.

Do you have any photos of the peeling you experienced?

No, I don't. The finished was flaking off the spokes out at the rim.

That's an issue on the RS 2.0 wheels, which have a metallic finish. These are more of a flat grey/graphite, and don't have the flaking issue as far as I know. I also don't care all that much since I bought them primarily with track purposes in mind.

These look really good. I like the 7.5 width as I can run 215 size tires vs 225. But I really like the 949 17x8-6UL in the Beryllium finish. Also only 16 LBS is a great weight for a cast wheel in the this size. Tough choices. Mind I ask how much you paid for them and where did you order? MSRP is 375 a wheel

Bought them used off someone local. Paid $650 for a set of 5 (spare included). 4 of the wheels had TPMS and all had RE-71Rs (including the spare). There was about 50% tread on the 4 wheels that had been driven on, the tire on the spare is brand new. I got a helluva deal.

I'm very late to this discussion, but bring good news. It seems like this wheel saves at least 4lbs over the stock wheels and probably closer to 5.

As discussed in this thread, https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143762 jkamelo weighed an RS2.0 wheel (same wheel but with flaky black paint) and got 16lbs. I weighed the gunmetal accessory wheel naked (no center cap, tpms, et.) on a postal scale and got a weight of 15lbs 3oz. (I've described my weighing process in the linked thread.)

This weight would be consistent with Lincoln Logs' weight listed above in this thread. He got 37.75 lbs for this wheel with a stock tire. The stock tire is generally acknowledged to weigh about 22 lbs, so that would put the this wheel (with center cap, tpms, balancing weights) at 15.75 lbs.

I'm starting to think these wheels are a pretty good deal. I don't know of any 17" wheel cheaper or even close in price that weighs less. It's crazy that Toyota doesn't publish the weight for this wheel as I assume they would sell a lot more of them if people knew.

That's awesome info, thanks for sharing! Yeah, I was actually just thinking about how much I like my wheels today. haha

15lbs is oz allergerita weight and they are 3-400 a wheel. So 650 for 5 is a deal. Good for you.
