Oh, OK, I couldn't see were the back was closed. I thought maybe you just lined up soda cans on that rear bench and tried to knock then over with the ball - which would be waaaaay more fun -

I don't think any of us have near that control. We have a couple guys I was getting ready to suggest a youth bat.

Part of our business, we build commercial systems. This one is for "R&D".

definitely get a battery backup. they do some power filtering, and help a ton with flickering power. stuff just lasts longer when it doesn't need to deal with those things.

i run a $60 ups on just my network equipment just for this.

It's amazing how "dirty" power can be. A lot of odd issues can be resolved with filtering and a more stable output.

i haven't seen any of the articles, but my boss was saying he did a ton of research into panel-mount surge protectors. some of the articles he found said the science is changing, and they're finding that many dirty power issues are caused from within the building, mainly from appliances turning on and off. so the main benefit to a panel-mount suppressor is to keep the building stuffs from screwing up their neighbors stuff. where the old line of thinking is that dirty power is caused outside the building, and must be suppressed as it enters...

i might have called an old boss a moron once for insisting on putting a fresh battery backup on a camera dvr that had oddball rebooting issues. until it worked. and was somewhat repeatable.

That is interesting. We have seen issues come up before where an AC unit or something would kick on and the surge would create issues. But we have also had issues with equipment running on their own dedicated breaker panel and the issue was coming from outside the facility.

I think my electrical gremlins jumped from our Suburban to my FRS when I figured out the issue on the Suburban (bad seat heater, unplugged it, no more issues).

Now I can't figure out why the GPS in the FRS has the wrong time on it. (my '13 has the US '14 Pioneer with GPS module). The time is off by an odd number, like 14hours and some change, not an exact hour amount or even half hour amount).

Even started a thread here but no responses.

All other functions are fine, even the remaining time, it's just the expected arrival time that is off (so I'm guessing the current time is off but it doesn't display that).

ARGHH!!!
