I would own that in black any day! All the highlight just pop.

Believe it or not, I'm not usually a fan of black cars either.
But what sold it to me was also nostalgia. My dad and I took a trip to Japan last year, and I thought it would be fun to rent an 86 and tour the mountains of Japan. The one they gave me was black, and now everytime I see a black 86-twin, I'm taken back.

I'm really glad that I got black, because it turned out beautiful.

If I am not mistaken Vancouver Washington is the main port of entry for Subaru on the west coast. There has been a bit of snow there as of late. I think that is a more likely source for dirt than them shipping them that way.
Could be a combination of both though.

Mine came in through port of Richmond in Northern California.

Well that rules out that theory then!

Do it. Most people can speak English until you get into the more rural areas.
Toyota Rent-a-car offices have phone access to corporate translaters who will help you out too.
I spent a year studying Japanese in preparation, but in reality, all I needed to know was "sumimasen."

Holy shit! Lol. I have an instagram for my car and lately I've been following/getting followed by Japanese 86 owners, and I kept wondering why the translation of their profile blurb would include something like "sorry to follow you" or some variation of that. Now I realize it's just the equivalent to saying thanks.

That's awesome. I'll definitely look into the Rent-a-car thing with Toyota.

Use your instagram friends too. I met up with one, and he showed me around Haruna and Usai.

Sorry for going off topic.

Wow gotta say. As a Series.HyperBlue owner call me crazy but I regret getting it for it's color. In retrospect and even towards the tS, I would easily trade my Series.HyperBlue for a SWP/CWP BRZ today. With that being said, if someone offered me a tS I would've said give me the white one. Black has never been my thing, the upkeep of black paint is an utterly difficult chore. Not to mention, white really makes the black aero kit and wing stand out. However, I never once gave thought to the red accents popping on the black tS and I must admit, I think the black tS is the only way to go now that I've seen it! It looks fantastic @yurikaze congrats!

It's a pearl white...pretty, but not everyone's cup of tea.

In retrospect, if you can get a tS for about $34k, that is a good/ fair deal. The suspension to me, is #1 top main thing you're paying for, that definitely adds value. Suspension parts+ paying Subaru to tune that....is probably in the relm of $2k- 2500. So add that to a price of a PP = $31.5. The other parts ( mainly cosmetic) add some value . Plus like others said, the labor involved with putting those parts on then creates further value
