Hakone on the Kanc

As part of a fun cruise on the Kancamagus Highway in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the 86ers of New England (86ONE) had a rainbow picture lineup. Of 21 FR/BRZ/86's mine was the only Hakone Green one.

Only 500 in the US so the probability of having more than one show up anyplace except the major centers is remote.

We have 50 across Canada and I did spot another in a small city about an hour from home. Didn't surprise me really since the dealer there is a big fan of the car and has always had a large stock and at least one of every special edition. In contrast my dealer in a much larger city hates the cars and refuses to stock any so only brings in orders with a hefty down payment. They had to ship mine halfway across the country from another dealer.

Obligatory picture since it is a photo thread afterall.

I'm looking for some Hakone Green specific input. At some point, I'm going to either A) Buy some 16" wheels and mount cold weather suitable tires or B) Buy some slightly wider than stock 17" wheels, mount some decent summer performance tires on them and then fit some cold weather tires on the stockers.
I'd like to keep the look of the Hakone intact, which means bronze wheels. I looked at possibly expanding my choices to include gold, but decided against it. You might think there isn't much difference, but every image I've seen of a green car with gold (yellow) wheels reminds me of a John Deere. And the Packers. Sorry, I'm a Bears fan.
Another possible direction would be to get some Torq Thrusts and go for a mini-Bullitt look.
What say ye?

my 2¢. I am waiting (no so) patiently for the Apex EC-7Rs, in satin bronze, to go back on sale.

I'll then put some thing (other than Primacys) on the 'stockers'. Though I do like that I can consistently get a 2nd gear chip with them.

My first inclination is to get some relatively narrow 16" wheels (preferably bronze) for cold weather tires. Decent quality lightweight 16" wheels in bronze aren't exactly plentiful. There are many more options in 17s, which would mean the OEM wheels get demoted to winter duty. I like the Apex wheels, but I'd like them better in a narrower width, like 8" or even 7.5"
I saw this thread, which got me thinking about how Torq Thrusts might look on a dark green 86.https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134886

For something a bit different, Ronal has their R50 Aero in a 16X7.5, 5X100 size. From what I can find, it's only a few ounces heavier than the OEM 17s. With these wheels, you never have to concern yourself with the appearance of the brake calipers.

That looks pretty sick in a pseudo-retro way

Given the condition of some of the local pavement I have to drive on, a lifted suspension wouldn't be a bad idea.

Look at the Apex ARC-8 if the forge is to much. Or Koing Hypergrams in 17x8 ET40 are really good value

If only Apex made wheels less than 9" wide for our cars. My plan is to go no more than 225 wide for my tires. I'm trying to maintain the "light on its feet" nature of the car for driving on public roads. Smaller, lighter tires and wheels are my preference. In bronze.
And another thing, it seems that every manufacturer has a different idea of what color is "bronze". Anything from a pale gold to coffee color. Since most images on seller's websites are actually computer generated renderings, it takes work to figure out what the actual color is.
