Then I'd rather them stick to a conventional cluster and focus their efforts on the aspects of the car that define it. IMO the clumsy execution of the cluster is the worst part of the facelift (well apart from the Toyota front end).

Well, I agree with your opinion regarding the look of new cluster, but many don't care how fugly it looks as it has few useful features such as coolant temp, oil temp gauge mode or G meter mode or stop watch mode.

ding ding ding, many (myself included) love the new features. also the digital stuff just make it look way more modern.

i agree, it doesn't look bad currently. its simple, a bit 90's ish, but clean and simple and a lot of ppl like that. I just want a bit more modern feel to it and the new display does it for me.

now if they'd just fix the damn head unit so it doesnt suck....

I am all for a digital dash, but I just wish it took the place of the analogue speed, where it is mostly useless due to both the digital readout, as well as the impossibly small numbers. I quite like having proper needles for fuel and coolant temps though.

Never trust a Subaru without an analog coolant gauge.

Coolant gauges hasn't been accurate for decades. Even the analog ones have intentional dead spots. Read the temp that the ECU sees to get an accurate look at what is going on.

Having the oil temperature readout is a real plus for me, it's a much better indicator than coolant temp for determining when the car is warmed up enough to be pushed hard - and as it climbs to nominal more slowly than coolant temp after startup, going by the coolant temp for that purpose is not a good idea.

So I got an email today from my sales person that first round of orders went in with a 7-8 week ETA, however non of her new info literature had any info at all about performance package. After going back though this change log, it looks like the new dampers and brembos are only available to the JDM?

This seems weird as they are being advertised on the Subaru.com website.... It will be quite unfortunate if this is actually the case.

The Performance Package won't be released until later this year or early next year. They stated this on the web site.

I do not know, I can only speak for my particular dealership. Also keep in mind, I've had a pre-order in with my dealership since the start of May. You may want to go quickly to help ensure that you get in on the first allotment!

Thank you, I did read that on the site and I was not questioning when it was being released, however as I stated, the change log shows that the new brakes and dampers are only available in Japan.

As of right now maybe but the Subaru web site and official changes document clearly show that the performance package is slated for the US. Dealers typically aren't always the most informed. And a lot of them would prefer to take your money sooner rather than later. Trust me, I worked for one. :P
