I wonder why the Jul 4 Motor Authority review pic of the dash shows so different around the display than Subarus promotional pics? I hope we don't get the Motor Authority version.

Yea that's cuz JDM doesn't even come with a headunit, you pretty much have to pick one from the catalog (couple of grand USD equiv) or get a blank plate.

I like the JDM dash as it's one piece.

Too bad it's not plug and play, otherwise I would have replaced the stock headunit already first thing.

^^This! The JDM one looks so much cleaner. It's one solid piece, and carries red stitching across the entire unit. Way better looking than the broken up piece that's half leather and half gloss black. That looks unbelievably cheap to me.

I HATE the new cluster. They shoehorned a square screen into the existing three-ring layout and it looks like such an afterthought that I can't stand it. I would hate having to look at that thing every day. It just looks so lazy.

I think the pictures just make the square look stand out way more so than in real life and imo the tach and font improved the looks a lot more. Not that the old one looks bad at all though.
