I've been waiting for the same thing. FA24/20 frankenbuild from a rod knocked engine or If only the timing cover being able to also fit the STI FA24 shortblock would be so sweet.. oh wait i'm in california.

Since the header gasket is the same as FA20... so lots of implications there. I'm surprised they didn't open up exhaust ports more

Kinda disappointing the exhaust isn't opened up tbh. I think the larger IM will fit for those of us FI.

You won't be able to do a frankenbuild as the bore is alot larger on the FA24. The k20/k24 works because the K24 bottom end bore is only 1mm larger. Its gets its displacement from the stroke.

Have a look at EJ20 heads on EJ25 blocks. Very common and a 92mm Vs 100mm bore sizes IIRC. As long as you cut the chambers in the head it should work.

I plan to try building one as soon as I can get a short block sent over

Unless you're seeing something I'm not, this is not true.

13-20 is: 20250FG042
2022 is: 20250AL011

If those parts are cross compatable, I don't know. They very well may.

You're correct. Different part numbers but the '22 part lists as cross compatible.

https://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_20...0250AL011.html

Just going off of the "What this fits" tab.

I did hit that tab on both parts, and they do not list all BRZs. Its one or the other in that tab.

Don't see that the tab shows the 13-20 BRZ in there.

"Does it fit" is not the same as "has the part changed". Keep this in mind

Welp.... Either I'm smoking crack or they updated it overnight lol. I swear I saw that it was cross compatible yesterday.

Sorry, all!!!

True, but that doesn't really matter in this context. Subaru parts can change and still fit various models, but it would list which models and years those were if that were the case.

But they still might be cross compatible as I stated. They also are both shared with different year WRX, so if there are WRX arms that fit all those models(I'll have to do a little digging) they may very well work.

IIRC correctly, 13-20 BRZ shared a RLCA with the 08-14 WRX which is ::puts on glasses, double then triple checks:: not currently listed as cross compatible with the '22 BRZ.

This also correlates with a post from Motomiwa stating the rear hubs are out further just a bit from prior gen. Gen 1 suspension still fits though, personally verified that.

The Whiteline KTA216A is listed as fitting 2008-2021 WRX.
