It’s not on their website. I talked to them a bit through FB.

I just got a reply on FB. I asked if the kit was "plug and play" He said yes once mods are done to the new engine.

What is your impression? It almost sounds too good to be true.

I was communicating with RS Motors about the swap as well, and he says the swap into a 2017-2020 1st gen should be plug and play and doesn't require their kit. He was going to be doing one sometime soon to confirm and would let me know.

EDIT: I would presume "plug and play" includes swapping over sensors and stuff from the FA20.

They posted a few weeks ago about prototyping a bracket for the cam position sensor but i havent seen anything after that. I dont know if thats included in their $700 kit.

Im waiting for a swap kit that doesnt require custom machining of the engine. I dont want to be left with no options if the engine blows up and they stop doing the machine work in the future.

I've been messaging RS over the past day or so. It sounds like prepping the FA24 for my 2013 FRS involves the cam plate changes and some reconfiguring of the wiring harness. No mention has been made of other engine mods.

Thats good to hear. I can deal with wiring stuff myself in the future if needed, not modifying the block. I should message them as well soon.

That’s good. Honestly I was a bit confused talking to the guy before. It sounded like he was talking about two different things.

Eye balling this thread for a while. I see red top FA20s selling for 6k locally. If I can source a FA24 for not much more I'd rather go that route if/when the time comes.

To me, it looks like the body shell is pretty resistant to rusting away like Fiats and MGs.
The most frustrating thing is to have a nice power train but have the Datsun body and frame evaporate.

Anyone have examples of rusty twins other than wadded up wrapping paper?

I need to make a dump run to free up some room for one in my garage.

I asked for a quote from RS Motors. He has a 2022 engine with 8k miles. He will ship it to me ready to drop in my 2013 FRS in central Va for $9900.

I'm thinking about it.

Dang you’re not too far from me! Let me know if you do decide to go through with it as I’m seriously considering it as well. Would you do the swap or have it done by a shop?
