Yea haha i drove around for about 30 mins to let my tank dwindle down close to the red line. I got about 1/3 of a tank. I drove it a little hard on the way back. Too early to tell a difference i think. Im going to run atleast two or three gas ups before i make a conclusion. That being said i hope its worth it. It was only 3.65 a gallon too with the Kroger discount!

today it was 3.75 minus 10 cents for kroger rewards. you can exit royal off 35 and head east. Its the shell just south of royal. Their pumps say 87, 89, 95, diesel. 11237 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas, TX 75229 - Google Maps

I am going to try it out, but I got some octane booster last Saturday and put it in a full tank of gas and felt little if any difference.

yea i am skeptical at this point. I never put more than half a tank in my car. Im going again tonight to get more and by then i should have reached a decision. Good thing is whether it works or not its still the same price as 93 anyway.

Conclusion

So i have gotten this gas consistently 3 times in a row. Honestly i dont know what to think. It feels a little more responsive but that could also be me wishfully thinking. If you are close and have nothing to do it does make for a good drive to go get and try out. Either way its still cheap too i paid 3.59 a gal tonight!

Are you still consistently getting the 95 octane gas from this gas station? Do you still think there is not much difference between 93 and 95?

Nah man i did it like 3 or 4 times in a row.. Me and another member MoreCowbell talked about it and we think it was 93 the whole time they just had it marked 95. MoreCowbell told me that they have recently changed the rating to 93 now.

Yea I asked the TDA for a pump analysis after I talked to shell corp. and they basically said they did not have any 95 octane pumps in the north Dallas metroplex. TDA as usual did their job and as of last time I visited the pump it now has 93 octane stickers and the proper ethanol content stickers. Shell v-power is worth the money, and properly filtered gas is a plus. Its wrong to market 95 when you don't really have 95 in the tanks.

I've been doing some research and asking around about different gas types lately. Do you know if there's much difference between the different companies or any huge reasons to use one over another?

I've heard good things about Shell in general from some other car buddies of mine. I generally use Chevron since there are a few in my area. The only concrete information I've been able to find is the Top Tier Gas "certification" (or whatever you'd call it) which both Shell and Chevron are a part of.
