Any downside to running Ferodo DS2500 pads front and OEM rear?
So question says its all... any problems on running Ferodo DS2500 front and OEM on the rear?
I tried using DS2500 front and Hawk HPS rear, and the break bias on the back was awful... almost could drive it... under heavy breaking the tail wouldn't stay straight. Thanks! |

For street driving it's been totally fine for me with that combo. I think I did 1 session on the track with this combo and it was also pretty bad.
My experience is with the AP Sprint kit so it's probably slightly different |

I would personally go with the same compound front and rear. I've had DS2500's on mine for two summers now, no issues at all. I'm about to put the second set of fronts in, but the rears still have TONS of life left. Very predictable under braking, no excessive squirming, etc.
Remember that the car has electronic brake force distribution, so if the compounds aren't matched (and you aren't doing the pedal dance to disable all the electronics except ABS) it can do things that you wouldn't expect to try to get the brake balance it wants.

mmmm ok! thanks for the input! the issue i have is, that my car (FT86) is the base model... wich has smaller pads and rotors on the rear... cant find a Ferodo DS2500 for my car on the rear... maybe ill go with Carbotech XP8, seems to have good performance on the track and its friendly for street driving.
