Duraflex gt500 fenders (rocketbunny rep) fitment and quality questions.
Please only reply to this thread if you have these fenders, seen them in person, and/or installed them.
Searched for a couple hours and couldnt find any actual personal reviews of these fenders. obviously theyre replicas so theyre not gonna fit like the greddy. but the wait time for the greddy is too long and not in stock anywhere at the moment. although i do plan on ordering authentic rocket bunny flares in the future once i blow these up. I have some experience with duraflex kits. I actually purchased a full aero kit from duraflex for my s14 kouki back in the day and the fitment wasnt all that bad. i didnt have to cut and refiberglass anything, there was some small minor gaps here and there but it was a drift car so it didnt matter to me. ANYWAYS, I was wondering if anyone on the forum have these fender and have installed them. Hows the fitment and quality? I plan on sliding my frs so when it comes to aero as long as it fits good and the quality is on par im all for it. thanks! |

Why not save the time if you're going to be buying the real deal? Doesn't make sense to me to buy replica shit just as a stop gap for the real thing...

Why do you need aero for a car that's going to spend its time sliding around? Found a review: I have some experience with duraflex kits. I actually purchased a full aero kit from duraflex for my s14 kouki back in the day and the fitment wasnt all that bad. i didnt have to cut and refiberglass anything, there was some small minor gaps here and there but it was a drift car so it didnt matter to me. |

If you know you're going to smash up your fenders drifting and you intend to buy the actual RB kit at some point, why waste your money? |

thanks for input fellas. I have all legit quality parts installed i.e. Engine components/bolt ons, suspension, wheels etc etc. I don't have much seat time in drifting. I wouldn't mind running replica fenders that fit good in the mean time. They're just going to get blown up once I go off the track. That's why I wanted to know if anyone has the replicas and how's the figment. Once I get more seat time and I'm more comfortable, I'd purchase the authentic greddys.

Because style... and wider tires as I'll be installing a vortech supercharger soon. It's all about the molds. The mold they used for the kit on my kouki was more than likely still in good condition. Since our cars our newer id hope the molds would be in condition. Again why I asked if anyone has experience with the rocketbunny reps. |

I'm running a replica kit I found on eBay (ABS) and the fitment was decent. I live in Texas, and when its hot out it would cause the kit to warp and leave gaps in between the body panel the kit itself. I used some seam sealer, a caulking gun, and some tape to solve this though. No issues since.
There is actually a kit on eBay (ABS) that is less than $250 shipped for the 8 piece fender flares. |

I bought the Greddy fenders and even they had VERY slight fitment issues. Just small gaps here and there. If you're planning to buy any, I would recommend getting the kit from @Angela.IKON . She sells the set even painted. If you look on the right thread, you'll find someone who bought the complete kit from her and installed it with no problems. Affordable and quick shipping. I don't work with them or anything LOL just get a lot of stuff from them and never had any issue.
As stated above^ you may get slight warping in the heat.

For $250 I've got nothing to lose, I'm not building a show car. Just a decent street car I can take to the track and slide Last edited by jay92; 10-20-2016 at 01:36 AM. |
