TIL about the "Whiskey Wars" between Canada and Greenland over a .75sq-m rock. The trolling is strong with this one.

TIL That although my wife's Ascent, that was ordered in January, has arrived at the dealer they "hope" to have it ready in a week or so since they just ordered the trailer hitch parts yesterday.

You should know by now supply chain is all JIT and no one stores anything if they can avoid it...

Timelines are still horrible - my sisters car was destroyed but a replacement is still "any day now, really..." - here's me wondering if they're not just trying to sell it at even more profit before finally giving it to the person who ordered it...

Not seeing markups on any new cars around here so there would be no benefit to selling to somebody other than who ordered it.
Timelines are not going to get any better for at least another year or at least that is what our big brass is telling us.
Pretty sure the hitch issue has nothing to do will supply chain and more when they started to prep the car they had an OH SHIT TRAILER HITCH moment.

Lol, from my perspective it's a race. Can a Toyota dealership get a MT GR86 in stock to test drive before someone figures out 2.4 swap kit for the FRS?

Yes. Just order the new car. The swap is not going to be cheap or very DIY.

I will not order a car I haven't test driven and checked out myself.

Plus, I'm still on the fence about it. I am 100% sure a swap isn't going to be less expensive or straightforward than just buying a car, but I'm sure I could figure it out given enough garage time, and it would certainly be interesting to do.

People can't even get the damn cars why do others think there will be masses of cheap used engines for swaps?
Any reasonable priced swap is years out and will hardly be worth the time and money by then anyway.
