If you think your insurance is bad. You would cry if you saw mine. I was paying 800 every 6 for just liability on my 09 zx6r. The brz with collision is.. much more. It's like another car payment.

That was me. It's actually got a temp plate form OH on it, but it's tough to tell. I'm frequently in the post office shipping out some car parts I make for BMWs.

Do you live in Royal Oak?

My wife and I have three cars.. 2012 Sonata that she drives, a 98 Civic that I daily drive, and the 13 BRZ that I hardly ever drive. I should be top tier based on age, family, credit, and driving history, etc.

The quote I got was from Farmers..

Anyone have a good, reasonable insurance company they can recommend?
I use State Farm (Rick Murray out of Richmond) and they've always provided excellent rates for me and my friends. 586-727-2774

I got quoted only $20 more a month for the FRS than I currently pay for the GTO. I think it'd be about $150 a month for the FRS (somewhere in there)...through Citizens Ins...full coverage

I work in Royal Oak.
I saw you from down the street lugging a package out of the trunk. I was tempted to hurry up and say hello, but I would have probably freaked you out and it was just too cold.

Totally wouldn't have been freaked out - I chat with random people all the time. Where's your work at (crossroads are fine if you don't want to name the place)...? I'm up town quite a bit since I live at 11 Mile & Main St. off of E. University Ave., so feel free to holler if you see me.

I was with State Farm in Ohio as well. I got a quote today from an agent.. $1340 per 6 months. $100 a month less than Farmer's quoted me. That's at least tolerable. I think for the location, etc.. it's not so bad.

I think I might try AAA as SccaBrz recommended as well.

If you don't mind me asking, what city do you live in and what city do you commute to? If your record is basically clean that is the only reason I can think of for the discrepancy. Hopefully AAA has a better rate for you, though they do charge a membership fee, but they have good usable discounts for being a member so you can usually make it back within a year in discounts.

I am paying $1030 for 6 months with progressive, but I have my motorcycle and renter's insurance through them as well.

You could, trust me. We just moved here in November and part of the goal was to be within walking distance to downtown, even during frigid weather. I believe we're exactly .6 miles from Starbucks, which sounds to be a stones throw from your work.

I live (rent) in Bloomfield Hills and I work in Troy. I guess a homeowner's policy will get me another 7% discount.. so as soon as my wife finds a job we can get a house and that will help.

Keep in mind that my policy has to include a second driver.. if you guys are all single, then you only pay the unlimited personal injury rape fee for one person rather than two. I think that's what keeps my total higher.

I am the only one driving my car because the woman cant drive a stick but even if she was driving I would be in the car too so I go with single driver, done it before where something happened and yessir mister insurance man I was driving.

I have a second driver on mine.

It's part of the charm of living in Michigan I think, we not only get great weather but delightful insurance rates too.
