Of course, by design. This is a "-1" winter setup here in New England, designed to optimize winter traction by decreasing the contact patch and increasing the lbs/in(squared).

I do a lot of winter driving in snow. They work great! I use 215/45-17 Michelin PS4's during the rest of the year and have much better traction than OEM.

I have the same size on steel wheels. Have for years.
They remain skinny!

There's more pics in this thread of not Hakone cars than actual Hakone cars.

Now I know how people have such high post counts here.

back on topic. we dont get snow here in southern california and it's a shame that so many can't experience that "winter wonderland" feeling for the holidays. so last year a group of my friends came together to put on a snow show of our own!

we were able to pull our resources together to purchase 3 snow "cannons"! I brought the Hakone out as well! people loved and couldnt get enough of it! you could say they were GREEN with envy muhahaha!

I love the trunk space in my Hakone. No problem taking everything for track days.

If I had a true Hakone I'd have to get this to wear when driving it. @Tcoat, Christmas idea for the wife?

Not as bad precewise as I thought actually.
