What I'm worried about is that none of us would be able to get it, and then some random dude in NY just bought it out of nowhere lol

What really sucks is if the dealer realizes there are two people that really want the same car. No room for negotiating at all at that point :x

Pure Pricing. No negotiations on the price ever. Accessories are another story.

I dunno, I had no idea pure pricing existed when I went to the dealership and I was able to get a better deal on my RS 1.0. It's possible that all the added accessories on RS makes it more haggle-able.

Dealer-installed accessories can be haggled with, yes. As I've said in other threads, some sales consultants/dealerships violate/ignore the Scion process. It was good for you in this case, but bad in most cases. I'm not sure how much of a "discount" they gave you, but unless they ended up lowering the prices in all of their 2015 FR-S after selling the RS1.0 to you, if Toyota/Scion caught on to what they did/do, they'd lose their ability to sell Scions.

Ah very interesting, I went hunting for a RS 1.0 at several dealerships and I suppose that'd explain why some were more responsive to negotiation than others.

I ended up picking mine up from way out of the way for about $1,000 less than sticker OTD. They had 3 left on the lot so maybe they were extra motived to move the car. It does make sense though, the discounts were probably taken out of the dealer added Bespoke navigation and TRD 18s.

Yep. There's enough in those two dealer-installed options to discount $1,000 and still make a little from the sale.

You said 3 left on the lot? FR-S in total or RS1.0?

3 total RS 1.0 there on that lot. It is a more rural so sporty coupes don't sell as well as big trucks in the area. Was a rough time for me to buy since it was the day after auto-tax went up as well. In GA, the tax, tag and whatever BS fees were about $3,500 total.

All dealerships will only get 2-3 RS1.0 since they are limited in production. They're not as "motivated" to sell them, especially when they're the new models.

Right that was the mentality the dealerships closer to Atlanta had despite them hanging around since August/September (I purchased early January). Oh well regardless, I was happy to walk out with the extras I wanted for under sticker.

I wonder if despite pure price, dealerships who have monograms will be allowed to haggle some since they are 2014 or if that just doesn't make a difference for them.

Well, not quite. Some dealerships, such as the one I work for, may lower the price off of all 2014s in an attempt to get them out the door. Others may see that they are a "special edition" and will keep their prices at MSRP.

They can change the posted price, as long as they sell all of them for the same price. It doesn't have to be factory sticker. That may be what was going on.
