Are South Bend Clutch and Exedy the same company?

So I just ordered a south bend clutch stage to daily driver clutch, but the markings on the clutch plate and cover plate would appear to indicate it is an Exedy clutch. Am I missing something or is SBC the same as Exedy? Kind of wondering whether I got the wrong part sent.

They're made by Exedy, as are many clutches on the market, including the stock clutch.

I see. So they are made by Exedy, but to the specifications of SBC?

Found this quote on a Subaru forum. It's from like 10 years ago but I imagine the same process still applies:

"Hi guys, I work for South Bend Clutch. I just wanted to clarify your concerns.

We modify the Exedy pressure plate and reface the disk with our material. We also use the OE bearings we purchase from Exedy. For the higher stages, we really crank up the plate load by starting with an Exedy racing pressure plate before our in house mods. The way we see it, no one has more engineering time and money invested then the OE. We are just improving on their design to optimise the torque holding capability. In other words, we're not trying to redesign the wheel. The wheel is already here, lets make it better."

Its a solid clutch option for these cars. Mine has been good for about 2 years including time with boost(reason I upgraded)

My stg2 daily clutch (rated for 315 ft/lbs) has slipped since day 1. SB said I was too much of a ***** during breakin essentially and told me to rip it harder. Did not help.
