Oh yea, airbags. I never raced in a car with airbags. I'm sure your arms are more than 10" .

probably should still be more than fine as long as you don't have t-rex arms. 10" is less than average for a forearm

Here are my stats and settings, all in "freedom" units:
5'-10" or so, 190 lbs. I'm guessing about average for an overweight, past-middle-age American male.
Seat height= lowest setting
Steering wheel= highest position, fully extended
Headroom= can barely put my fist between the crown of my skull and the headliner
Reach to steering wheel= shoulders against seatback, wrist hooked over rim
Clearance to airbag= about 12" to chest, 10" to belly
Legroom= less than I'm used to, but it's the only way to fit to the steering wheel. After driving a while, I'm becoming used to the leg geometry. It helps that I had previously adjusted the clutch pedal a little lower than stock.

Interesting. I'm 5'9" , 195, and I just went out and sat in my car to check. I've got about 5 or so inches to the headliner.

That sounds insane to me. I have literally 1 finger from my dome to the headliner. A helmet makes me a press-fit in the car.

I have my seat pretty much as far back as it goes, I’m not 6’4 but I am 6’1 and I have not ran into any sort of discomfort. I actually think these seats are nice and snug. Unless the 16 is different than the 13(which I don’t think so) I think it’s just a preference thing.

I’ve also got a lot of headspace. More than enough room for a helmet

Ditto. Headliner's a little munched under the crossbeam.

To get my wrist to hook over the top of the steering wheel while my shoulder was against the seatback I had to un-recline the seat back to a more upright angle than what I consider normal. This forced my head to within a fraction of an inch from the headliner, so I lowered the seat as far as it could go. To get more recline while maintaining the same distance from the wheel to my shoulder, I'd have to scoot the seat bottom forward to the point where I'd be way too close to the pedals.

i believe the pedals were designed around a 5' person. which makes sense given subaru/toyota's japanese origins.

i'm about 3" closer to the pedals than i'd prefer to be comfortable with the steering wheel.

Yup. That's why I have the steering column extension. Also makes it way more comfortable for long haul driving.

I learned a great deal at that HPDE. I should look up my coach and buy him a beer.

I'm 5'11" and probably have 5" from helmet to the roof.

Has absolutely NOTHING to do with the PCI mount and OMP seat. I swear.

Hey everyone, just thought I would give a quick update.

I wish I had good news, but as of today the FRS is gone. I tried every suggestion (besides having the seats upholstered) and nothing worked. Once I realized that I preferred driving my daily over the FRS, I knew it was time to return the car. When I did drive the FRS, I spent more time trying to get comfortable than actually enjoying the car.

It really sucks because besides the seats, I really did enjoy the car and this community seems awesome. Thanks again for the help everyone, I wish I could have made it work.
