I think, if the wheel can extend more, you can adjust the seat (the upper side of the seat) more back, so you would have a more head room with a good steering wheel position.

I haven't tried it, so I might be wrong. But when I adjust my seat like that, I think that, if I had that steering wheel spacer, I would have no head room problem at all, even with an helmet.

Jeez. I feel like that guy is way too close to the steering wheel.
Knees and elbows are at 90 degree angles.
I'm uncomfortable just looking at him.
