OFT 1.42 vs 1.5x Beta Who notices a Difference?

So I keep playing around with these and so far I actually have not felt that I like 1.5x Beta over the 1.42 in regards to the E85 UEL Tune. I have not tried the other but those who I have talked to have felt that out of the box the 1.5x Beta seems to take some time to learn and feel good compared to 1.42 and earlier roms.

I keep going back and forth and the 1.42 just feels stronger, smoother. It could just be me and I didn't see much mention of it but well it can be hard to find in all the other information so I wanted to see if I could get any other users here to chime in on how they feel.

What do you guys think so far?
I remember Shiv saying that the main changes were concerning ECU learning but there are timing changes, target afr and other changes as well. (At least when I went in and looked at 1.58 Beta today, I guess I could go check the earlier versions)

doood.. I was just thinking the same thing today on my drive home! I have to be honest, I just feel that 1.42 is just better for DD. Smoother gear shifting but slower overall ride. (marginally)

1.5 feels faster to me especially at higher RPMs. no doubt.. but, the gear shifting is more difficult at lower rpms. Too often I get that jolt/shake in the car when changing gears around 2 - 3 k.. more so with beta 1.5 than 1.42

thats it.. ive just decided to flash back to 1.42 tomorrow a.m. for comparison. switching maps like that i just part of the beauty of the OFT.

It's been a while since I looked at the old v1.42 tunes. In fact, I just deleted them from my laptop this morning. But I don't think there are many/any significant changes made to the E85 maps between v1.42 and v1.5x. Most of the big changes had to do with the gasoline maps. If anyone wants to compare the E85 maps, just use the comparison image feature in ROM Raider. Let me know what you find

I just noticed 1.58 is the only version available for download now on your website. Are you doing maintenance or is this intentional? I just dug up 1.42 version. Luckily I don't empty my trash often

not saying I don't love 1.53. I just have noticed a little difficulty in gear shifting in comparison in traffic. The OP sort of reminded me of it. Anyone else? or do I just suck with a stick!

I am still on 1.53.. have not tried the new beta yet. I am on pumps gas

I don't see how any of the changes would have an effect on how the transmission shifted in traffic. But that doesn't mean that it's not possible. This is just the first time I'm hearing about it.

I don't know either. Maybe the change in power (however marginal) is taking me more time to adjust. its not bad by any stretch but I feel like I have to work at it a bit more.. feather the clutch more. I hate shifting from 1st to 2nd and getting that jolt and sometimes I struggle with making that transition as smooth and butter like as possible.

You feel everything with this car which is part of its characteristic and love of many drivers. Lightweight, near perfect weight distribution and low center of gravity.

I am on E85 but I will post a screen shot of the E85 differences here after I fix something. Someone let there stuff (aka crap) fly out of or fall off of their vehicle on I-10 and it popped out one of my side markers. I wanted to check its seal anyway so good excuse.

I did notice some changes but I was looking at a lot of maps, the first E85 tunes released that didn't even do EL vs UEL at that point. So maybe I looked at the wrong one. I am rechecking now. I think I was looking at the 1.41 Beta not the 1.42. The changes are there. All that's been changed on the E85 side since then are 4 tables.

So I guess the first test will be 1.42, then 1.41B and lastly 1.34B. See if its just me really or not.

Maybe worth logging and see if your IAM is dropping, if it pulls a bit of timing it can cause that hesitation at low rpm

Also happen's to me in very hot weather when intake temps climb at traffic lights and ecu pull timing due high iat temps.

ive only tried 1.5x but i did notice a change in my shifting from stock to 1.5.
When stock, i got pretty good at starting in first with very low rpms, but always had weird issue with shifting from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3.

but now with 1.5, I noticed i need to go to Higher RPM's when starting in first, but I have absolutely no issue with shifting into other gears.

Or maybe this is all in my head.

I have been testing for about two days now and I do still think 1.42 is smoother. 1.5x just seems to be rougher and it doesn't seem to run as well right out of the box. I am noticing some course knock detection but thats it, however on E85 I wouldn't expect to see that at all.

I have not modified the tune regarding my current tests, I wanted them to be unaltered when I tested.
I am testing 1.58 right now and trying to give it a day or longer to see if it feels better after a little driving but I think I am going to go back to 1.42 here shortly as it just feel's like somethings not quite right with the new changes that were made in 1.5x
