My DGM Subie
Hey everyone! After lurking on this forum for about a year now, I have finally made a membership and want to share my car.
I got it the weekend after Hurricane Sandy last year, and the modifications have been subtle and minimal - aka I'm broke. Current Exterior Cosmetic Mods: JDM side markers 35% tint on everything but the windshield Suntek clear bra - full bumper, about 18" on hood. (installed absolutely terribly. Not happy at all with it.) Future Exterior Cosmetic Mods: LED bulb swap - indicators, side markers, reverse lights, fog lights Current Interior Mods: P3Cars integrated vent gauge WeatherTech Floor Mats Future Interior Mods: LED bulb swap - Shipping from DiodeDynamics! (Thanks to NickC for such good customer service!) Accelerator Pedal Extender - for easier heel/toeing Current Engine Mods: Oil Pressure Sender Future Engine Mods: Maybe an Oil Cooler and AOS for track days. Current Suspension Mods: Bounced off a curb in the winter and threw the alignment out so I had a porsche race shop in Freeport redo the alignment - now I know its spot on. Future Suspension Mods: KWv3's, sways, etc Current Wheels/Tires: Stock & Stock Future Wheels/Tires: Sparco Assetto Gara 17x7 & random winter tire setup Something reputable in 17x9 w/ 245/R40/17 MPSS End goal: Ridiculous handling. Reasoning: I rented a 140hp race spec Miata @ Lime Rock and was keeping up with GT3s, M5s, and Camaros. I care more about whipping around a corner super fast than I do about flying down the straightaway at 180mph. I have a motorcycle for straight line entertainment. Subie is for corners. |

That P3 vent gauge is bitchin!! I bought the wireless plug in unit that connects to the Torque app but haven't done the install yet. This is WAY cleaner and doesn't require a tablet in the car. What kind of A/F ratios have you gotten?

Ahh, I was just looking at the P3.. looks nice!. How hard is it to wire/conceal the cable? You can't stack ODB devices right.. so you can't have this and a Bluetooth adapter right?

It's a 2012 Monster 696 ABS. It is my very first bike and boy am I happy I didn't get a 250cc. The Monster is a beastttt that handles like a scooter. I love it. But I'm thinking of selling it because I rarely get to ride it and insurance isn't too cheap =[ |

WOT I get ~12.5 - Ideal power production Edit: under coasting conditions or engine braking, the gauge shows 25 - I assume this is just the max value the gauge will display and that in reality the car cuts off the fuel injectors, or at least cuts back on them a lotttt |

The gauge itself is just the screen, and there is a processing unit that looks like a VGA PC connector. It connects to the display thru a 5 wire ribbon cable that can't be more than 1mm thick - so tucking it between the AC duct and vent is easy to do. I won't say wiring everything up is easy - because crawling under the dash in these cars is a PITA. There is a metal cross-member in the steering column area that I zip tied everything to. Nothing hits my legs or feet while driving and there is no noise or any other indicators that there are extra wires under the dash. I believe you CAN stack OBD devices. I purchased this via the group buy on this forum from FA20Club and they offered an OBD Y splitter - So I assume you can use 2 OBD readers simultaneously. Hope that helps |
