Hey guys,

I just placed my order for a MY13 BRZ (GBS). Trying to find folks and events around Central Iowa, as well as shops and recommended places to go do things like window tinting, etc...

Let me know!
Thanks

I'm just outside of Omaha. Being so close to Des Moines, I'd recommend checking out ft86 speed factory. They seem like a real upstanding bunch. I heard they're putting a Vortech Supercharger on one of their cars. I just finished my install, but I'd like to check those guys out in the future for possible upgrades and dyno tuning

Any idea when your BRZ is going to show up? There's a couple guys in Omaha that want to start having get togethers. That's a little drive for you, but it'd be a good opportunity to make some local friends. I took my Catalina to the "Good Guys" show over 4th of July weekend in Des Moines. I had a blast, but boy oh boy, what a boring drive that is!

HAHA Iowa is only beat by Nebraska in the Top Most Boring Drives! :p

Working things out to get it next week… *fingers crossed*

Congrats on purchase. I am in Des Moines! FT-86 speedfactory guys are awesome. I got my beats sonic antenna from them. Not sure on the tinting, but I am sure you could ask them. I too would like to opticoat, but have not seen any here.

That's great to know! Do they have dyno gear down there too? First few things I'm thinking of doing is the "shark fin" antenna and window tinting. I'd like to do an undercoat before salt/snow season too… Then, get some snow tires on the stock wheels (this winter), get some new wheels + summer tires next summer, and new snow tires/wheels next winter (considering this simply to get some wider snow tires/better grip).

no idea on dyno. I would again defer to them. I could be wrong on winter tires... you want narrower tires,so you drop to pavement instead of float on top. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I am planning to get x ice 3 as I believe they will stock our size starting this month.

Good call on thinner tires/wheels! It just reminded me of watching rally racing and seeing those tiny little tires when they race in snow! Makes a lot of sense, actually…
