Mine is a little latch I have to move up and down. When I found out, I was overjoyed. However, when I dim the mirror and the light is still blinding me, that's when I have a bad time.

Lol talking about lights in mirrors reminds me of being pulled over for my foglights. They "blinded" the cop. Who may I add was driving a Ford explorer. My car is lowered, and the fogs are properly aimed so that they are effective, read: pointed low toward the ground.
I laughed a little when he said that, which obviously wasn't great for the situation. He asked why I laughed, and I said "Well sir, you are driving an SUV, and you sit up pretty high. I'm driving a low sports car, which is lowered. And my foglights are about 5 inches from the ground and properly aimed, which is at the ground. So you being blinded by them doesn't make much sense". I got off with a warning, obviously I don't need to be driving around with fogs on in clear weather, which he liked to remind me about. Which I understand. But initially his reason for pulling me over was stupid. Well, unless his initial reason was because I'm driving a lowered red sports car with gold wheels on it and I was being profiled. |

I watch them pull up behind me and busily type my plates into the computer all the time. When it comes up how old I am and I have a clear record they usually pull around and take off so I get to take advantage of reverse profiling (Old guy no record must be ok).

They don't have to type in your plate anymore! The cop car camera constantly scans all plates in sight and does the profiling for them. One of the miracles of living in the digital age. |

But they pull you over if you have some kind of protective casing from dirt on your license plates because they can't secretly profile you as easily.

Oh the good old days when they had to call it in if they really wanted to know anything. Took so long they rarely bothered. "Do you have any prior tickets"? "No officer and my name really is John Smith at 123 Main St"

Was kinda thinking more about the lights coming from the side rear view mirrors, not the middle one. So mmyyyyy answer is usually hanging my hand in front of it or bending my neck over a bit.

To be completely honest I have never really noticed it being a "switch". I just thought it was to help adjust the mirror up or down so you don't put fingerprints on it. hahaha, I'm really clueless sometimes.
