FL- Clearwater - Fitzgerald Auto Mall Countryside - Sales

Sales: Nicholas Rine

Story: I was looking to order a BRZ -Limited GBS and I saved up enough to cover the down payment. At that time there wasn't any BRZ to test drive in my area so I went to the AutoNation Toyota in Pinellas Parkdealership off of US-19 and test drove a DGM Scion loved it once I was able to wiggle my way out of the dealership I went over to Fitzgerald Auto Mall in Countryside and placed my order with them and told them what add-on I wanted simple as that. Waited about 3 and half months for it to arrive and had a smooth buying experience.

Experance: Had no hassling from the sales crew and they were up front about the cost ( they weren't on commission). Ended up getting a better trade in deal what I thought and wasn't charged Delivery cost - A+ experience.

Subaru of Jacksonville was amazing. Professional and easy to work with. Parts manager was an old autoX buddy so that helped a little, but even the service dept was top notch.

Sad I had to move away right after I bought it.

[FL] - [Tampa] - [Mastro Subaru] - [Both]

Sales: [N/A]
Service: [N/A]
Story: [Purchased my 2013 BRZ from these guys - went to the dealership without the intention of buying, was offered a test drive, took it, and fell in love. No BS'ing back and forth on the price; I told them what I was willing to pay, they told me what they were willing to discount it to, and we agreed on a very fair price in the middle. No pushing by the finance guy whatsoever of warranties or extras; they offer it, you decline it, they move on; end of story. Everyone I have dealt with there has been nothing less than exceptional. Service has been phenomenal - they actually stock Motul RBF600 brake fluid and did a full fluid exchange, can do performance alignment if you bring them specs, and are very familiar with aftermarket stuff and can install anything. Not only that, but I notified them via internet that I had the chirp , and got a call two days later from the service dept. saying my new HPFP was in stock and they wanted to schedule a service appt. for me - talk about convenience and customer service. ]

Reynolds Subaru Orange Virginia

Got an amazing deal on a 2013 BRZ Premium in Silver, and the negotiations and purchase were very low key and relaxed. Wife's company bought an Outback from them and were pleased as well. Some very nice county road leading out there too.

MD - Annapolis - Annapolis Subaru - Sales and Service

Sales: Just picked up my BRZ. Salesman was Ed Rucker, and I swear he's the hardest working salesman I've ever seen. It can make him hard to reach on occasion, but he's always responsive to email. He's also incredibly nice and always straightforward. Price was good, though I had VIP so I didn't have to negotiate at all. Dealer fees were reasonable. The only thing I don't like about these guys is their finance dude -- I think his name is Joe. He tried to upsell me on all the junk he could, which is his job, so I don't blame him for that, but he gave me a real crazy bullshit story on the Xzilon sealant. As soon as he said "cold fusion polymer bonding", I knew he was trying to play me like a rube. I found it offensive, frankly. BTW, Xzilon is just a basic $40 bottle of paint sealant that they charge you $700 for. However, he did beat my credit union's best rate by 0.1%, so that's pretty solid. Other than the Xzilon junk, I absolutely loved the experience at Annapolis Subaru, and I highly recommend it for DMV-area buyers.

Service: Just perfect. I had my WRX serviced here for 22,000mi. Everything was always pristine. They returned the car washed and vacuumed every time (no swirls). There's even free soda/snacks in the waiting area. The wifi isn't great, but it's enough to check email or play Words With Friends while you're waiting. They also have a shuttle service and loaner cars if you ask them ahead of time.

Dealer: Heuberger Motors
Sales: Clint Earhart
Finance: Dawn P.
Location: Colorado Springs, CO. (I live in Austin, TX)
Vehicle: '13 Subaru BRZ (New)

Since most of the reviews here are short, I'll keep mine as well.

Story: I you live in Texas, specially Austin-Houston-San Antonio area, you'd know what I'm talking about when I say "old style dealerships ripping everyone off". I was looking for a good deal in a BRZ and I simply couldn't find it around here. I'm not the kind of guy that pays MSRP or just shy of it, neither should you. So anyways, I found out about Clint and the price was unbeatable. Even with shipping to Austin my BRZ was below Invoice Price.

Experience
For the price he offers you would think the customer service would be in the low side, and honestly who would care (you are getting an amazing price). But that's not the case, my experience buying from Clint was outstanding.
- He answered questions/emails at ridiculous hours, and on weekends.
- Even after I closed the deal with him, he still treats you with the same diligence he was before he actually "made the sale".
- Dawn P. is equally as effective in communication and doesn't try to push into buying all sorts of addons that you might not want. She makes the finance part of the sale a breeze, and not uncomfortable like most dealerships' finance-guys.

All in all, best experience buying a car.

Buying a vehicle is all about Price and Honesty. Simple as that. Meaning, the most important part is getting the best price possible, and having a honest salesperson that it's not there to trick you out of every cent he possibly can. If in top of that you get outstanding customer service, then that's amazing. That's exactly what I got dealing with Clint from Heuberger Motors. I'd highly recommend to anyone buying a Subaru to contact Clint first.

My Review:
My wife and I had been looking at the BRZ and FR-S ever since they came out with a sometimes weekly visit to our local dealerships to see their in stock inventory (wanted to see every color). I had pretty much made up my mind that I wanted a Galaxy Blue Silica BRZ Limited MT, but was planning on purchasing a 14 with the VIP program. I was right in the middle of waiting for my 6 months to pass (for the VIP program) when I learned that GBS probably wouldn't be available as a MY14 color on the BRZ. We really weren't in a financial position to spend $29k on a car this fall besides the fact of not being able to locate a GBS within our state or a neighboring state.

I was about to settle for a SWP MY14 (it's a great color too), when I stumbled upon Clint at Hueberger on ft86club. I've bought several used cars online over the past few years and have had several questionable experiences, to say the least. Not only did he have 1 GBS left unspoken for, but it had the same options that I wanted and was about $3k less than what my local dealers had them priced at. We decided to go for it.

Clint was VERY easy to get ahold of. I'd imagine it could get confusing speaking with a husband and wife, between two different sets of texts, email accounts and phone numbers, let alone all of the customers he has. He never missed a beat though. He was always there to answer our questions and give honest feedback. As soon as our car arrived to his lot, he sent us a pic and video. It was our actual car, not just the same picture he sends everyone. We let Hueberger do our financing and felt as though we got a competitive interest rate. We dealt with Dawn, the finance manager. She gave it to us like it was, none of the usual dancing around crap that you normally get with dealers. If we didn't want an extra service or option, there was no pressure. They FEDEX overnighted our paperwork with very easy to figure out forms to sign.

I really wanted to drive the car home as it would have been a blast and it would have been cheaper, but we decided to have it shipped as driving wouldn't work with our schedule. Shipping went pretty smooth overall. The delivery time kept getting pushed back further into the day. I was very apprehensive about having a car delivered in the dark. One call to Clint and most of my worries were gone. He mentioned that we had a 24hr claim window that she shipping company/driver "forgot" to mention. He also gave us tips on what to look for and whatnot. The delivery went smooth and the driver was extra careful while unloading our car. I thought I had found damage and I think the driver was more pissed than I was, but it was just bird poop, so no worries.

Overall, my wife and I couldn't be happier with our experience with Clint and Dawn at Hueberger. Even after shipping, we were able to save about $2500. We were able to get the exact car we wanted. Our next Subaru purchase will def be from Hueberger motors. Unless you just like to spend extra money, I don't know why you would go elsewhere.

CT - New London - Secor - Both

Sales: Andy Stevens
Service: In general
Story:

I moved to the US from Canada and was looking to buy a twin. I had no US credit at all when I moved here. Andy was the only guy who was willing to put in the calls, do all the paperwork etc to look into the Foreign Professionals program Subaru has for financing. Of all the dealerships I went to, Andy was the only guy who actually treated me like I was actually going to buy the car BEFORE seeing my income (I'm a 23 year old male but I look more like 18). He made what should have been a long process breezy (I was renting a car that I needed to return), coming in on his off days to get the paperwork done. Since I bought my BRZ I've taken it back for service twice and the guys are always cheerful, in a fantastic mood and ask me about the car. I've never felt comfortable in any car dealership except this one. It's bizarre.

My Review Of Heuberger Motors:
Buying a new car always brings me a certain amount of fear and anxiety. With all of the conveniences we enjoy today, haggling with a car dealer over price, and the uncertainty of the "deal" you get seem like an outdated way of doing business. Add to this some dealers questionable practices to raise the price by tacking on overpriced features (VIN etching, nitrogen-filled tires, pinstriping, etc) and buying a new car is something we dread. These are some of the reasons I had put off buying a new car for a while, and for the relief I felt when I stumbled across Clint's Heuberger Motors posting through ft86club.com.

I initially blew off the posting as "not worth the trouble", but a growing number of actual car owners were posting about the good experience they had buying a car from Clint. Most reported saving thousands of dollars, and with minimal hassle. Eventually I decided to give it a shot and see what sort of pricing I could get for a 2013 BRZ. I received a reply from Clint very quickly, even though had many other orders in the pipeline at the time. To my surprise, the pricing was lower than I anything I had seen even for the lower spec version of the car. It wasn't long before I made up my mind, and started the buying process with Clint.

To me it seemed unheard of to take an initial offer without even considering haggling over it, but the price was that good. I live on the east coast, and Clint was able to get me an estimate on the shipping cost that, even when factored into the car price, was better than what I believed was possible locally.

Clint made contact by phone, and we discussed what options and model specifics I was looking for. He was very knowledgeable and it was obvious he not only knew the cars, but was a car enthusiast himself. The next time we talked, he explained that Subaru was no longer shipping new 2013s, and the next cars matching what I was looking for would be the 2014 model year. I was prepared to wait several months before I could hope to receive the vehicle. Little did i know, Clint would be calling me a few weeks later not just to tell me that the car would be there soon, but that it had just arrived!

From there I talked with Dawn, who took my best credit offer and beat it by over half a percent. As other people have mentioned, she was not pushy about warranties and the like, and with no hassle we had worked out the details of financing. I had my paperwork the next day, and soon heard from Clint that the car would be headed my way (with pictures and video no less).

The car came in a day early, surprising even the dispatchers, and Boris (the driver of the truck) was very friendly and helpful with a quick nighttime check up on the car. He briefly explained the 24 hour damage claim window, and my mind was set at ease over the coating of road grime from the long journey from Colorado. After a thorough washing the next day, I didn't see any damage of any kind.

In the end, I've got the car I wanted a couple months earlier, several thousand dollars cheaper, and with absolutely no hassle or pressure. It appears my experience with this process is similar to many others, so if you're looking for a new Subaru I would wholeheartedly recommend giving Clint a call. I certainly will, and have already recommended him to several of my friends (who brags about their car dealer!? you will!).
