Anyone have a differential pop yet?

Anything? What were the circumstances? What was the power level? Etc, etc.

Thanks!

Sure the diff will have a power limit but I think how it holds up also has to do with how the car is driven. Pound on your car and things break.

If your worried about your diff under hard use try stiffer bushings to limit the amount of flopping around the diff does, that's only harder on the internals.

Just trying to cover my bases. I'm running a 2JZ swap, not the FA20. I'll be putting a lot more torque through my drivetrain. Just looking at all my options.

It's not just power output, it's also grip that matters. You can make 1000hp, but if you're running stock tires you won't hurt the diff. Give it sticky tires and it'll break with far less power if you're launching it hard.

Keep in mind you can break anything with stock power and sticky tires and abuse but...With sticky tires it seems axles can go after 400 or at least thats what crawford said. Id bet the transmission after that depending on grip. It seems alot of them hold up just fine with street tires. Fullblown went to the v160 i think after they passed 600hp and broke one but that was before i was a member on here so dont hold me to it. They swapped to the ford 8.8 around the same time but i thought that was for gear ratio options but now that they have a 700hp car maybe they blew one up. But I never saw a thread on it, just the blown transmission and crawford breaking axles.
At least youll bust axles first.
