The car we got actually stands out and has way better curves, there's no way you could've expected that concept to be legal

Yep. I have worked for major, Tier One automotive parts manufacturers for longer than most on this forum have been alive with the last 5 years at a level high enough that I know what our customers (most of the car companies) are planning 4 or 5 years from now. This also means I know that all this "insider" crap is bull because anybody that is high enough to actually know anything is not going to say boo about it. If they did they would be out of work within minutes of it hitting the press. These sites take quotes out of context or executive double talk and twist it around until it sounds like what they want. That is the end of the story.

The fun part here is that what is shown for some of these concepts don't even really exist. The computer renderings can be very real looking but in the end that is all they really are, renderings.

Nobody should believe anything about an update to the FR-S/BRZ until it's officially been confirmed. It's as Simple as that.

Yep. A joint venture with Volkswagen should show up any day now. It will be a diesel I understand from my very reliable insider source.

I do love these threads though, they always collapse into 4-8+ pages of trolling because people can't fact check

Diesel would be cool. Great torque and gas mileage. It also does not pollute according to the VW software engineers.

Anything you hear before that is speculation, theory or pure bullshit no matter how "official" it is claimed to be.
In the US the MY release I recall researching about model announcements for next MY and Toyota releases their next MY 86 in Japan in January-February http://toyota.jp/86/?padid=ag001_i_carlineup_search so we should see what the 2017 FR-S will look like then. Then official US release press release http://pressroom.scion.com/ in April-May with mid-late June for shipping to US. I followed every step when I was researching for my 2016 and it seems consistent for the past model years. So expect the new look to appear in the next month or month and a half. It may be later in Canada, dunno for sure.

Come onnnnn tcoat, let the dreamers and the wishful thinkers have their fun! Its fun to try and guess what is coming next! I think those renderings are top notch given the spy shots they had to work with.

And about high level leakage, i'm not an insider like you but I would assume that sometimes these guys tell their kids or people in their family some sweet details and then they go off and make a scene about it and maybe in some select instances it makes it to the web. Or maybe it doesn't, you never know !

Oh don't get me wrong! No issue with the creative guys that are trying to figure things out and clearly speculating. It is the "I know somebody and it will be XXXX" guys I am calling out.

You know, if our cars had a diesel engine I'd be genuinely excited. Just imagine how stumped people would be if a little sports car was filling up with diesel?!

Ive been seeing info flying around for a while. I read the scion statement, not many changes but changes all the same. The most important question is the mechanical one, why are they so vague about the hp when its the most important thing to any new buyer.
