That was well known by several auto journalists and from Tetsuya Tada's own mouth that there would be a sub 86 car, also photos were published from the auto show as it was coming into the show as well. Motoring.au will always be the ones to hope on a hype bandwagon and clickbait title article.....

The info yes, that was widely already known. However, no other site had that photo of the blue car. They published that photo months before Tokyo even took place. Even when posted on here, a lot of you guys said the blue rendering by Motoring looks like crap, the real thing will look way better. Or something a long those lines.

They also were one of the 1st sites to report the next LS was going to be a fuel-cell.

Anybody in Japan right now to check out this magazine? Apparently they have details on the 'big refresh' of the 86. Not sure how reliable this magazine is, but it could be interesting nonetheless.

Looks spot on. Note the ribs in the middle of the air damn (is that what we call it?) except the opening doesn't appear as tall in the spy photos. Maybe its just the angle from below on the magazine vs the view down from the spy photos.

Anyway, I don't think anyone buying a pre-2017 is going to be missing out on anything. The refresh appears quite minor. Unless they did a number on the interior.

It actually looks a lot better than I expected it to. I thought it looked a bit disproportionate through the camouflage but the one on the cover of the magazine looks nice.

The front of the refresh looks horrible at that angle. Way too aggressive for my taste.

I like the wheels though...

Yeah, ugh, that does look awful. Hopefully that too is just a rendering. It makes it look like it has a big mouth. And it looks like a cheap aftermarket bumper trying to overstate the aggressiveness of the car.

Yeah the grill looks a bit too big for my taste if thats what the refresh will indeed look like... I'm curious to see what the other changes are. I plan on getting a Scion/Toyota FR-S in a couple years and would like to see some changes, but definitely not liking how that bumper looks.

Aha! Well done indeed.

The text is a bit hard for me to read, but they claim that, while the engine specs are unchanged, the gearing will be made shorter for increased acceleration!

I guess we will find out later this year.

Looks to be generally possible. I'd say personally I'd want the original FRS over this. Wheels and lights look good though
