What is your kit, C30 or C38? I have a very distinct compressor sound with C30 during hard acceleration.

For those people that went this route, did your tuner have the needed engine management, or would it have to be bought? I'm thinking about going with this kit but not sure if I should buy it with the tune already and get it tuned locally?

Does your state have emissions? Are you installing yourself?

No emissions testing here. Was toying with the idea of installing it myself of labor costs get unreasonable.

I installed myself, have the CARB tune, car is quick, ant you can drive it to your tuner if you still have stock cats and you get the ecutek cable as well a $300 value.

Did some research, looks like I'll probably have to buy the tuner anyhow, may as well as get a proven tune. Run it for a while until I get used to it and then get a custom tune.

I saw that it takes about a weekend to install, that's what I'll shoot for if I end up purchasing, sounds like one of the hardest parts is handing off that kind of money.

I say get it installed then dynotuned at a tune shop.
a good tune shop can squeeze 20 hp out of an engine without anything but an air filter and tune, just imagine what they can do if you give them a S/C kit.

go w the jrsc c30 kit, track performance big power, daily drive-able, just change the sc's oil/fliud every 10kmiles, and air filer kept clean, thats it.

Traction fluid needs to only be changed 2 years or 50k miles.

I emailed Jackson racing and they got back to me very quickly. But they are currently only able to sell the tune it yourself kit due to waiting for something from CARB. Are there tuners and a map I could get that I could flash so I could drive it to the tuner without ruining anything?

You're in Texas right? We don't need CARB here. A simple tune by Delicious Tuning will work just fine.

Not trying to sound too ignorant, but this is the first car I'll be adding FI to. So a bit new to me.

But I'll probably be taking the car into Austin somewhere to get dyno tuned after we install the SC

That seems strange. 2 years or 50k, whichever comes first? Are there people out there that hit 50k first?

We have customers who commute 25-30k a year with the supercharger on. Many do hit the 2 year mark first.
