Hammer, Never not hammer. Sounds like you could use a breaker bar or an impact wrench.

Get a breaker bar. It's helped me a lot when I had to remove those bolts! good luck!

You can try a penetrating lubricant like PB Blaster instead. Also, maybe start up the engine and let it heat up the exhaust a bit and then try again. When in doubt though, breaker bar or pipe extension is your friend.

Use two wrenches instead of 1 wrench and 1 rachet. The rachet makes it a lot hard to break them loose.

Half a second with an impact gun or a breaker bar + mallet.

Try a real rust release penetrating lubricant... WD40 does make one, same with PB Blaster.

If all else fails, lots of heat and press a candle into the threads. The wax will flow in and lubricate.

Oh and a breaker bar.

I just removed the stock muffler a week ago and experienced the same problem. I used a rubber mallet with my ratchet to crack the bolts loose. A breaker bar might be a better option/investment, but sometimes you just have to use what you've got.

My bolts were so rusty, got me off pretty easily. Breaker bars save energy and rusty bolts lol

Had the same issue as you. What helped me was PB Blaster...sprayed it on, not even a minute later, bolts came loose as if they were hand tightened.
