I had my track pipe made at Worth's. I definitely feel that I received quality work for what I paid.

Most likely me. I live and work in the area. I frequent roads all over the area.

Ha, no problem at all. The funny part is that the run with you was my quickest of the day. I was .6 seconds slower my next run. I have camber bolts up front and I can tell you from hooning around when I installed them with stock tires that theyre worth their weight in gold. The car grips at higher speed instantaneous steering input.

I am definitely going to pick up a set! I could really tell the difference with your lack of corner entry understeer like I was getting much of the day.

Theyre only like $8 for two bolts through subaru and take 15 minutes to install. Great little mod IMHO

And I never asked, what did you do to your car to end up in STX? I was secretly hoping to best your 57.5..... If I had a few more runs, I feel like I could have done it.

edit: If you get them, dont bother getting an alignment. I had it aligned to factory at ntb before and rechecked after install. camber is 1.1/1.2 Driver/Passanger. Toe is 1/16 total, 1/32 at each corner. Perfectly within factory specs.

Was there a track day recently that I missed?

The intake, brakes and strut tower bar alone put me in STX.

Yeah, I was smoking on that run. Not really sure how I was able to run that fast but I was only .6 seconds off that Cayman S so I was pretty happy about that.
@Eurasianman
We run autocross with the Twickenham Auto Club (TAC) and Tennessee Valley Racers (TVR) which is the local SCCA chapter. They go on every month. You should check it out!

Brakes? What set up are you running?

@Eurasianman
Its a lot of fun out there. It gives you the chance to toy with the car, push its limits, and develop driving skills. The next event is July 13th - you should join us out there if you can.

I have the full StopTech kit from ft86SpeedFactory.com.

It comes with stainless steel brake lines, pads and slotted rotors all the way around. I love them. No fade, but give off a bit more brake dust than stock.

Really? Man, im oblivious sometimes. I thought about better pads, but theres no point at the moment. I have high temp brake fluid waiting to go in and i have never had any fade. I have 6-7 quarts of the junk if youre ever in need of something better. 6-7 quarts is a life time worth of fluid changes....

Thanks for the offer! I upgraded to Motul 600 brake fluid since I was changing out the brake lines anyway. I think I still have a few quarts left even.

Upgrading the brakes makes a world of difference on the FRS. They're more responsive and I can brake more aggressively and later than before but without cooking the brakes. The primary reason that I upgraded the brakes was because there are some track days coming up at TGPR and Road Atlanta that I want to run the FRS at. I had been warned that those tracks melt the stock brakes.

We need to get together one of these weekends and get the twins out in the mountains for a few cruises or run Little River Canyon Road.

No problemo. When the motul needs to be replaced, let me know. The fluid i have is 500*F/332*F dry/wet I believe. It should be perfectly fine for any non-rcomp track setup.

And what are the requirements for the events? I want to do the time trial at barber in august, but I believe I saw that a competition license is required as well as a tech inspection. Ive heard the same about tracking the cars - my pads are really the only safety concern now. Who is the Road Atlanta track day through??

And im game. Ive never been down little river. the 23 mile strech on 231/431 south of Shelbyville is a blast as well.... There are so many blind crests, i HIGHLY recommend a GPS unit to see whats coming up. Im booked through next weekend, so anything after that is perfect with me.

For TT you will need a comp license and our cars don't make the grade for safety. ReZoom Motorsports and Chin Motorsports hold PDX events (track days) at both Barber and RA. The only problem with them is that you need to be prepared to pay a premium. $300 minimum to run at Barber but Road Atlanta and Talladega Grand Prix are just over $100.

I think there are enough '86 owners around North Alabama now to make it worthwhile to try and organize some events, cruises or gatherings. I'll PM you my number so you can shoot me a text when you want to get together and I'm pretty sure I can get at least one other owner to join us.

I think trying to organize something would be awesome. I know 2-3 other guys that would most likely participate. Other than the forum and facebook, im not sure how to communicate a cruise to anyone.

Do you have a link to the road atlanta event? It's by far my favorite track in the region.

I'm definitely available now that I'm not tied down.
