I'd probably go with the CoD console just cause it looks cool.

I'd personally go for the 1 TB one. I'm already down to 116 GBs. BF4 with all of it's DLC is over 50 GBs. Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2 is 40 GBs. Destiny is at 18 GBs, but I am sure it will grow after the expansions. I think Titanfall is pushing 22 GBs.

Yea... it all adds up quickly. I am actually missing the old days (Xbox 360/PlayStation 3), where install was optional (well, for most games).

Then again, with the Xbox One, you could always just add an external USB drive :\

Also, as an owner of both, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, each has its pros and cons. Right now, I am getting more use out of the Xbox One. Hopefully in the near future, my PlayStation 4 will start getting some more use. Had the same thing happen between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Was playing the PlayStation 3 for about 6 months before I went back to playing on the Xbox 360. This past weekend, I probably spend a little over 5 hours playing Xbox 360 games.

At the end of the day, it just comes to a person's personal preference. For instance, for me, I got Watch Dogs on PlayStation 4 because of more content (weak excuse, I know) at launch. Got Destiny on Xbox One due to I prefer Microsoft's online game play services over Sony's and prefer the controller for shooter games.

I'm certain this extends further than gaming consoles. From anything to cell phones (Android vs Apple) and even cars (FR-S vs BRZ, FR-S vs Genesis, anything vs anything, etc.).

THIS! I have a XB1 currently and can vouch that there will definitely not be enough memory on the consoles the route games are going. I only have 3 games installed and have over 25% of the core memory used. They're doing it so eventually we will have to upgrade again. Did it on the 360/PS3 and they'll do it on both next gens as well.

Holy shit console games are big, I think the biggest download I've had in recent memory was Skyrim and that is what, 9-15 GB with full voice acting and easily 40+ hours gametime for the main story and a handful of sidequests?

I've got such a hardon for Nintendo right now, MK8 was 4.9GB, the 3DS are all <4GB so a 32GB SD card will last me a good while (<$20 to boot) I'll be playing Smash for dozens of hours minimum.

Titanfall on the PC was also a 50GB download. That was just the original installation, before the three DLC packs.

I agree, I think the 1TB would be a bonus.

Man, I haven't picked up Titanfall in like 3 weeks since I became consumed with Destiny. I need to get back on there and take a break from Destiny once in a while.

Meh, I tried to pick it back up and just could not get into it. I'm only G1 25. I do not have enough motivation to rank any higher Destiny and Forza Horizon 2 have taken over my life.

Which is funny, because when I got Titanfall I first was in love with it. I picked up Destiny when it came out, played it for a bit and then went back to Titanfall for a couple of weeks. I then retried Destiny and haven't picked up Titanfall since. I'm kind of wondering if I will still like it as much now that I've become consumed with Destiny. I think we are the same rank too.

If I'm not mistaken Titanfall was developed primarily for consoles with the PC version being a port.

Quote:
Source also suited Respawn’s desire to hit a constant 60 frames per second on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3, where other third-party engines weren’t up to the task. "The ironic thing is that we wanted an engine that would work on PS3, because that’s the riskiest platform in current gen. When Portal 2 came out and it seemed to be a pretty decent PS3 game, that was the point when we decided to go with Source. And then we stopped supporting PS3."

Respawn soon encountered the hard realities of developing on five and six-year-old consoles with ambitions grown larger after the success of Modern Warfare and its sequel.

Gone are the days of major titles being developed for PC.

The last AAA PC title I can think of developed primarily for PC is Diablo 3 which as of latest expansion pack is ~25GB for PC's, ~16GB for consoles. Shadow of Mordor is around the 30GB neighborhood on the three modern platforms, not sure what their focus was for though.

Bandwidth is an issue for many and datacaps are common in not insignificant parts of the world including the good ol' u s of a. I'm just starting to notice that game sizes are growing significantly on the XbO/PS4, hopefully telecom gets the message and starts actually upgrading infrastructure but I foresee another debacle incoming like the 'always online' requirement not so long ago.
