This ranks right up there with fake engine noise to me. I just don't get the point of it, nor do I want it.

Either my vehicle makes engine sounds in the cabin or it doesn't. Either it has the option to change real gears or it doesn't. Leave the fake stuff, and the engineering dollars it cost, for video games. Focus on things that really make my vehicle (EV or ICE) actually better not virtually better.

The only way this thing makes "sense" would be as a plug and play module you'd in place of a cupholder for when you want to mess around.

-Remove cupholder / cubby / whatever
-Stick fake gearstick
-Plug fake clutch
-Mess around
-Realize this is kind of meh
-Put fake gearstick and fake clutch in a box somewhere
-Forget about them, and keep a lingering feeling of guilt about having spent hundreds on such a useless accessory (alternative: sell them)

When you think about it, this is the equivalent of sticking fake poo generators on the back of the first ICEs, so that horse amateurs can still enjoy the smell of proper manure.

When I think about it, I just feel a little sad.
