Cool. I wonder if there is a solidworks file floating around somewhere. I wouldn't mind taking a shot at making a widebody kit using my router at work too build molds

Need some advice. I have a turbo brz with a full blown radiator, mishimoto slim fans and shroud, a 15 row oil cooler w/mocal thermostatic plate, vented hood. Turbo has a blanket and all exhaust parts are heat wrapped. In texas, temps have been about 100 degrees. My car runs hot in traffic after 30 mins, and driving over long time on just local roads in this heat. Coolant temps run 230-235, oil temps 230-240 with the a/c on. Running 5w20 oil. I have to turn on the heat to keep the coolant temps stable or untill I pickup some speed. What else can I do to help? Vent the fenders? Cut open the skid pan? Thicker oil? Coolant was replaced earlier this year with OEM Subaru Blue.

I'm no expert but I think more venting won't help because if you are sitting in traffic, you still don't have air flow. Ceramic coating on your hot side parts will likely be your best bet

even though everything is already wrapped? i know the engine bay is like an oven, and the fans are definitely pulling in alot of air. i wonder if just all the hot air can really escape

hot air rises and cold air falls...at least that's what I remember from middle school, haha. Using that knowledge, I would assume vents would help dissipate some hot air that's just effectively sitting inside the bay by giving it a place to go.

He's already vented though. Hot air rises but not fast enough to escape his engine bay

I’d check the cooling system (no air, thermostat, water pump ...). turbo or not, in those driving conditions, there should not be excessive heat generated

I live in the Palm Springs area, today was over 110 and has been this way for over a month. Daily driving water temps always stay at 197 to 204, reading taken from ECU. I have Koyo radiator, engine oil and tranny cooler, vented hood and fender side inserts and run Puroil 10-40 oil.

We are pushing 100 here in Central Florida and I have a similar setup except for a Jackson supercharger rather than turbo. I can do a slow crawl for an hour on I4 and coolant stays 191-195 regardless. Oil temps creep up over 200 in slow traffic and back to the 190's as soon as I'm moving. I am thoroughly impressed with the FB radiator and JR oil cooler.

Sounds like it's probably your thermostat if these guys aren't having heat problems

I fixed this issue running a very similar setup by replacing all the antifreeze in my radiator with distilled water and Purple Ice. Didn't drain the block so I ended up with probably a 80% water and 20% antifreeze mix. I also properly bled the coolant system for a solid 30 minutes letting every last bubble get out using this funnel attachment: http://a.co/dA0wGvQ

You probably have air in your system. I know I did. Runs at 210 F in slow moving traffic now in 95F ambient with the AC blasting.
