I'm not going to get caught up in eight pages of arguing, but I like the roof, rear strut bar, and rear seat delete. The diffuser is cool too, but I'm not a fan of the center exit exhaust. I wish the wannabe ram air scoop in the bumper was real though.

But let's compare it to solely to some hardware available in Japan: I'm just going to assume that very-gently-used R35 GT-R's are anathema because they are (soulless/fat pigs/whatever argument the haters use), so I won't post any of the numerous <¥6M examples.... But here's a R34 V Spec II for ¥5.7M: link You could spend ¥5.5M on this Z06 Vette: link Or ¥6.2M on this one (newer, lower mileage): link Corvette interior too tacky? Road tax on a 7L engine too expensive (then you probably shouldn't be dropping $60k on track toy, but I digress)? Perhaps Porsche is more your style? This is the *MOST EXPENSIVE* manual Cayman S I could find, @ only ¥4.3M: link Somehow still too heavy and not track-focused enough? How about a Lotus Exige? Ahhhh, now we finally find something that costs more than the 14R60. All of the 3.5L V6-powered Exige's are over ¥8.5M like this one: link The 1.8L-engined Lotuses are similarly priced to the 14R60 @ <¥6M. A fun, lightweight, RWD daily driver makes sense @ $25k because it's pretty much the only car on the market (Miata = 2-seat roadster, everything else is heavy). But when you move upmarket to the >$50k range, and focus on track performance, the value proposition for this vehicle is, IMO, terrible....even compared to the options here in Japan. I'm sure Toyota will sell every one of these....just like Ferrari sells its various $2million "special editions" to the same target market: brand fanboys with deep pockets.

If you are bringing used into it, why would anyone pay $26k for an FR-S when you can get a C5 Z06 or C6 non-Z06 for the same money? You can find an Elise for under $30k that will destroy an FR-S. Sent from Tandy 400 |

I've just about given up on this car community. Comparing the frs/brz to muscle cars. I think it's about time I sell mine.

The muscle car you've always wanted and toyota should have built shaped like a frs for sale now! 460whp but on stock suspension so it's worthless! Post the dyno sheet in the window to impress the ladies! Pm me for details! On sale now!
Build thread on here somewhere.

Stateside is different. The only arguments for buying the Twins in the US that I can think of are: -semi-usable back seats (possibly the biggest deal-breaker for some buyers) -some other practicality/daily driver benefits (don't Lotuses have crap head units/climate control?) -styling aesthetics (personally I find the Miata ugly) So if you have <$30k to spend, possibly only have a budget for 1 vehicle, and need something semi-practical, the argument for the Twins can still be made under certain criteria. The chassis/suspension is great and it's not that expensive to add power (if you go forced induction), so you can get power, handling, practicality, and modern Japanese styling all in one daily driven package. Point is....@ the $60k track car price point? No bueno. Neither in the States nor in Japan. Just my ¥2. Hell, I'd love to see a track comparison of the 14R60 and the Lexus RC-F. Both Toyota coupes and they're in practically the same price range. And that fatass Lexus still manages a higher power/weight ratio....

I was. I'm on the Kanji side of the house for now (student visa) and no longer have the Evo IV. Still have the girl though.
I've seen a white GT86 on Camp Foster a few times....is that you?
