Since beastronix is no more, what’s the alternative?

Has anyone had the chance to do much on track testing with the trac box yet? Sadly our season got shut down before it even got started, and I didn't even get a snowy winter to go drifting around parking lots.

Grip driving, works great! Drifting, still had to pull the ABS fuse.

It just puts the car in pedal dance mode. There is tons of info on pedal dance on track.

Yes, I had been running pedal dance on track. I was curious if anyone had noticed a difference between PD, Trac Box, and Beastronix, or if they were all the same. My testing was limited to "does it turn the TC light on"?

Small push switch. Depending on what options you chose with the tracbox will determine whether you get a on/off switch or a momentary switch.

All the Trac Box and Beastronix box do is initiate PD mode without having to do it manually and heat soak the crap out of your engine bay while trying to get the coolant up to the required temp. You can initiate PD at anytime.

I think the question is that.. 'does the TracBox implementation actually work'? All we see at this point (because of lack of testing / track closed) is that the trac lights are on.

I have raced with both the PD and TCLP (Traction control Long press) and the difference is clear. I will be on track this weekend with testing on Friday so I should get a chance to test both and verify... assuming I remember.

This box uses the command over the Canbus and the TCLP isn't a CANBUS command but PD is. (Bold/emphasis below is mine)

Well how this work is that dealer level software or even factory level software that had commands that are send though canbus. They can activate or deactivate various part of different systems. Well not sure what to tell you.. but you can check if your in PD mode is by when your on it, short pressing or long pressing either the TC or the sport button wont work at all until you turn off the car or send the PD off command though canbus. Which i can, but while in PD mode the buttons wont do anything. Also, these commands are not to the ecu but the ABS module. They are dealer level/factory level commands. So outside the typical OBD2 commands, and they are not the vehicle level data (i mean the regular transport data for regular function).

Through canbus there isnt any long press traction control "command" so its not possible to send TCLP though canbus. Only by physically possible by actually pressing the button.

Just to re-iterate, the TCLP is a SWITCH hardwired to ABS. The Trac Box is hardwired to the CAN bus only. Therefore, it's not some elaborate trick he's playing on you...the trac box doesn't even connect to the TC switch...

Also, these CAN commands for pedal dance are very basic. It's actually much easier to do it using the pedal dance commands over CAN than it would be to tie into the TC switch. Nice work Gerald!

just noticed when I turn the fans on using the box it only turns the passenger side fan on. Is that by design or do I have an issue?

I think that's by design, as far as I know the other fan is for the AC only.
