I actually did this last month, used that case..

I would not recommend it. The quality is so low that the key only locks in place maybe 1 time out of 10. really awful quality. buttons feel hard and cheap. Just make do with it currently, unless you find a case that locks that flip key really solidly

For those of you with the new style key, we have three options:

$8.46 - Low end - New Folding Remote Key Shell Case Keyless Entry 3BTN for Toyota RAV4 2013 OEM
$9.31 - Mid-grade - Flip Remote Key Keykess Case Fob 4 Button For Toyota Prius RAV4 Camry Uncut blad
$40 - High-end - FOLDING FLIP KEY SHELL FIT FOR TOYOTA 2014 NEW RAV4 WISH VIOS

Personally I'm going to go with the mid-end, since it looks to use the same style buttons as the ones that come with the 2015 key, so I'm going to assume it's similar quality. I love the look of the $40 one, but that $30 price difference makes it hard to justify the jump.

Why does one have to destroy the valet key as well as one with buttons in order to do this?
Wouldn't the button remote that you're opening have the transponder and immobilizer?

Yes, but it's glued in on the button remote so it's easier to just cut it out of the valet key
